Championships Event Day 2 with 21 players

After 8 hours of scheduled play, Championships Event Day 2 is a wrap! 21 players survived with Japanese player Yuto Hishikawa bagging the chip lead of 765k. We will have a recap in just a bit. William Fasano has it then pays

Level: 16 Blinds: 3K-6K Ante: 6K

Preflop raise war led to two players all in. The bigger stacked William Fasano had J J and was dominated by Czar Ian Marcos’ Q Q. When the board felted K 3 Q 6 it was a flush for Fasano ahead of the set, but the river 3 improved Marcos to a full house to double up to 600k, Fasano plummeted to 240k.


Feng Zhao vs Dan Trett

Level: 16 Blinds: 3K-6K Ante: 6K

From hijack, Feng Zhao raised to 12k, cutoff Dan Trett three-bet to 36k, Zhao called and the flop landed J Q K. Zhao checked to the aggressor Trett who continued with a 20k bet, Zhao called. On the turn 3, no brakes for Trett who slid out 80k. This time Zhao opted to check-fold.


Thomas Ward grabs back to back pots

Level: 16 Blinds: 3K-6K Ante: 6K

Once again, Thomas Ward faced off against Ahmed Ibrahimi and this time, he scooped it. On a turn board 8 7 A 10, Ibrahimi bet 65k, Ward flat-called. On the river 6, both checked. Ward won it with J 10 pair to Ibrahimi’s missed draw.

On the next hand, Ward raised to 13k, Thijs Hilberts three-bet to 33k, Ward answered with a shove. Hilberts folded. Ward now over 540k.


Three more players don’t make the cut

Level: 16 Blinds: 3K-6K Ante: 6K

Eman Segismundo headed for the exit as his J J failed to hold against Ahmed Ibrahimi’s K Q. The hand began with Czar Iyan Marcos opening to 15k and Ibrahimi on the button, three-bet to 40k. Segismundo woke up with the premium hand from the big blind and jammed his 158k stack. Priced in, Ibrahimi called and saw a board of Q 4 9 6 5 to take down the pot.

Couple hands later, William Fasano opened to 12k and Ibrahimi once again fired a three-bet to 37k. Julius Lagman from the small blind, pushed his 156k stack in the middle and ran into Fasano’s A K. Dominated with A J, Lagman exited in 23rd.

On the other table, Czardy Rivera was all-in for 115k on the button against original raiser Yuto Hishikawa and caller Buddy Boy Blue. Hishikawa made the call and showed K K crushing Rivera’s 9 9.

Win some lose some for Ahmed Ibrahimi

Level: 16 Blinds: 3K-6K Ante: 6K

Single Day High Roller winner Ahmed Ibrahimi is very active at the table. He just took down two pots with the first one taking a chunk from Thomas Ward. Catching the action only at the river Q J 10 A 9, Ibrahimi banged out 135k onto a 200k+ pot. Ward tank-folded.

The next pot was smaller. From utg+1, Ibrahimi raised to 14k and got called by the button and small blind. Everyone checked the flop 7 K 5, the tunr 4, Ibrahimi bet 10k and one player called. The river 2 was checked, Ibrahimi won it with A 4 pair over A J.


Chris Pasion rivers it to crack aces

Level: 16 Blinds: 3K-6K Ante: 6K

Christopher Pasion was happy to see the river give him exactly what he needed to stay alive. The hand opened with utg Feng Zhao raising to 12k, cutoff Pak Seok Won and big blind Pasion called. When the flop ran 3 6 9, action was checked to Pak who bet 22k. After tanking, Pasion announced all in, Zhao quickly folded, Pak called.

The turn J was no help to Pasion but the river 2 was good for a straight to sit back down and collect his double up. Pasion up to 206k, Pak dropped to 420k.


Preflop raise war goes to Moe Jiggy

Level: 16 Blinds: 3K-6K Ante: 6K

From cutoff, Mojiggy raised to 12k, button player Pak Seok Won three-bet to 31k, Mojiggy four-bet to 90k, Pak folded.


Lee Chang Hwan loses a chunk of his stack

Level: 15 Blinds: 2.5K/5K Ante: 5K

Playing a ton of hands, Hwan found himself in two tough spots. First against Pak Seok Won who called his utg open and saw a flop of 5 6 6. Hwan c-bet 20k and Won clicked back to 45k. With a call, the turn Q saw both players checking and the river 9 completed the board. Hwan check-folded a 60k river bet and showed A A.

Shortly after, Feng Zhao opened from the cut-off and called a three-bet from Hwan in the small blind to 34k. The flop revealed J 6 7 and Hwan bet 27k. Zhao called and the turn came 2. Hwan continued with a 65k bet and Zhao once again called. The river 5 completed the board and both players went check-check.
