Ward loses another early pot, Nakamura rewarded

Level: 1 Blinds: 100-200 Ante:

Thomas Ward is known to be an active player at the poker felt. He is definitely getting in the action early here but just lost another small pot. On a flop of K 6 8, Ward checked to Kyosuke Nakamura who bet 1050. Ward called. On the turn of 9, Ward checked it again and Nakamura bet 1350. That was enough to win it with Ward folding up.


Sato earns a small one off ward

Level: 1 Blinds: 100-200 Ante:

On a flop of K 5 K, Thomas Ward bet 650 onto a preflop raised up pot. Hiromi Sato raised to 1625 and Ward called. At the turn of 8 and river of 8, Ward showed Q 9 while Sato had better A 5.


Limped pot winners

Level: 1 Blinds: 100-200 Ante:

With blinds and antes low, just at level one, three players saw a flop of 7 4 8. Big blind player Masatoshi Tanaka bet 575, cutoff player Francisco Acfalle Sr raised to 1500, small blind John Beveridge folded, and Tanaka called. The turn of A and river of 5 saw no bets and Tanaka won with K 8. Acfalle had 10-9.

At the next table, four player on a limped pot saw a board land J 3 9 10 Q. It was checked all the way to the river and Clarence Choon Huat won it with his 10 9 flush.

Glancing around the room, there are several notables at the felt, Tom Ward, Mark Amparo, Dhaval Mudgal, Jun Funabashi, and Spartan Poker APT package winner Rakesh Kalla. There are currently 33 players at the felt.
