Mark Amparo entered the day at the bottom of the chip rung but is now be making his slow ascent out of the hole. On a completed board of 5 8 4 A 9, Algerico Tabacon pushed all in covering Amparo’s stack. Amparo called.

Duong railed by Ha

Level: 9 Blinds: 600-1200 Ante: 200

One of the previous APT Main Event champions has just fallen out of the running.Ha Duong was just eliminated by his own countryman Tran Hai Ha. Duong was all in with his short stack of 14.3k and ha called.

Tollefsen sends Endres packing

Level: 9 Blinds: 600-1200 Ante: 200

On a completed board of K 10 4 2 J and a pot of 35k already in the middle, Henrik Tollefsen bet 40k which pretty much put Steffen Endres all in. Endres tanked then eventually placed his tournament life on the line. Tollefsen had K K for a set and Endres mucked.


Thoo doubles up through Hanwool

Level: 9 Blinds: 600-1200 Ante: 200

Another short stack just doubled up, Ming Ken Thoo. He was all in with 10 10 and Hanwool called with 3 3. The board bricked. Thoo now just above starting stack of 50k.


Reyes doubles up through Paredes

Level: 9 Blinds: 600-1200 Ante: 200

Alfredo Reyes doubled up with his short stack of 20,100. He held Q Q and Yohn Paredes with A 2. The board ran 8 2 9 10 J.


Kwang first one out, Lee over 230k

Level: 9 Blinds: 600-1200 Ante: 200

Lim Choon Kwang is the first casualty of the day. He was all in with A K and Chang Hun Lee had A 10. The board ran 3 Q Q 10 7 sending Kwang quickly to the rail. Lee over 230k.


Day 2 begins!

We are back at Resorts World Manila for Day 2 of the Main Event. There were 110 players who made it through but two of them, Linh Tran and Algerico Tabacon, qualified in both flights.  A total of 57,400 in chips has been removed from play and the official field is 108 players for Day 2.

Entering the day as the leader is yesterday’s leader, Singapore’s Ho Bao Qiang with 269,300 chips. They will play a total of eight rounds or to the money of 27 players. Good luck to all!
