Shyh Chyn Lim wins the preflop war

Shyh Chyn Lim kicked off the action with a 5500 raise from the utg seat. Down the orbit, Yukiko Ogasawara called followed by Neil Raine who three-bet to 19k. After Anton Del Rosario folded his big blind, Lim four-bet to 53.5k. No calls came and he earned a nice pot for his aggression.


Neil Raine sends Gary Thompson out

Gary Thompson has been trying to get something going his way but after one earlier double up, he still remained short stacked. He moved all in with it and was up against big stacked Neil Raine.

Anton Del Rosario takes the lead with around 420k

The chip lead may have just switched hands to Anton Del Rosario. By the way his stack looks, it is roughly around 420k. We caught him win a pot preflop with Kohei Kawanishi raising to 12k, Neil Raine calling, then jammed to 35k by Del Rosario. No call arrived and he collected the pot. Not long after, Del Rosario eliminated Kawanishi though we missed the hand. We’ll try to get that from him at the break.


Chris Morrison takes some from Daniel Smiljkovic

Chris Morrison may be sporting a much shorter stack than Daniel Smiljkovic however it didnt’ stop him from battling it out for a pot. Preflop action began with a raise to 6k by Morrison, Smiljkovic three-bet to 15k, and Morrison called. On the flop 10 6 K, Morrison checked, Smiljkovic bet 8k, Morrison called. On the Q turn, Morrison shoved his remaining chips and was awarded the pot with no call from Smiljkovic.

Daniel Smiljkovic moving up, wins two big pots

The German Daniel Smiljkovic has chipped up tremendously after booting Yosuke Takagi and crippling down Marcel McGray. The hand saw both players all in on the turn 2 4 3 J.

The river A completed the board.

On the next hand the flop showed 4 4 3 and over 15k in the middle. Small blind Smiljkovic check-called a 24k bet by button McGray. On the 5 turn, Smiljkovic switched up and led for 37k, McGray matched it up. On the river K, Smiljkovic shoved and was called once more. Smiljkovic turned over A 2 for a straight and McGray mucked in dismay.

Smiljkovic now up to around 278k. McGray drops to 40k.


Nakajima Shigenori rails Jin Bo, zooms to 405k

Nakajima Shigenori has just taken over the chip leader’s status taking down Jin Bo to reach 405k. It was three-way raised pot preflop by Shigenori from mid position. On the flop of 5 4 6, Shigenori bet 20k, Bo raised to 45k, the third player folded, Shigenori shoved, and Bo with a snap-call for all his chips.

The turn Q and river 6 were not the outs Bo needed and he was eliminated.


Honda Yuichi doubles up through Lim Shyh Chyn

Honda Yuichi was awarded a double up by one of the big stacks at his table, Lim Shyh Chyn. It was a shove preflop.

The board drew blanks and the short stack Yuichi grew to 70k.


First break of the day, 40 remaining

After two rounds, seven players have fallen to the wayside leaving 40 players at the tables. Leading in chips is still UK’s Neil Raine with around 286k.
