Good morning and welcome to another day at the races! Day 2 of the APT Macau Main Event kicks off at exactly 1pm with 75 out of the 118 players entering their next eight round bout. Leading the way with the largest stack is China’s Yang Song with 241,300 in chips. Song surged on the last level of Day 1B to earn the high status. Right at Song’s coattails is Malaysia’s Choong Kian Weng who bagged up 224,400 in chips in Day 1A, and running third is China’s Peng Fei Liu with 215,100 in chips.
In addition to the leaders, two-time APT Main Event champion, Henrik Tollefsen, is also at the felt and with a very healthy stack of 173,700 to back him up. Other past champions also in the lineup are Vietnam’s Linh Tran and Huu Dung Nguyen, both players on the hunt for their second title.
The APT Main Event had a HKD 19,800 buy-in for a prize pool of HKD 2,039,000. The eventual winner will take home the HKD 521,000 first place purse.
