Jinwoo Kim is the newest APT Main Event champion! After a deal was reached, both players fought for the remaining 2M pot and the trophy. Kim was able to close it out with his final hand A 9 and a board running J K 2 Q A.

Kim was awarded the APT Championship Tropy, the APT Championship Ring, and KRW 26,225,000. 

Runner-up Paul Hong earned the larger cut of KRW 34,337,000. Congratulation to him as well for a fantastic run at the Main Event.

Both players decided to shorten the game and reached an ICM deal. Paul Hong was now guaranteed KRW 34,337,000 and Jinwoo Kim KRW 24,225,000. A KRW 2M pot was set aside along with the trophy.

After several successful grinds, Jinwoo Kim took a huge hit to his stack to send him down to 1.4M. It began with a limp by Hong and a check by Kim. The flop A Q K Kim checked then called 80k. On the 10 turn, same action with Kim calling a 220k bet. On the J river, the board showed a straight. Kim fired out 1.5M, Hong shoved, and Kim quickly folded.

Down to 1.4M, Kim shoved on the next hand and Hong called. Kim A Q, Hong J 10, board ran 3 7 Q 8 A for a double up to Kim. He is back up to 2.66M. Hong with 5.84M.

Jinwoo Kim has been challenging back at the leader Paul Hong. We’ve seen him three-bet numerous times on the small blind bringing his stack up to 2.4M.

Paul Hong now has 6.8M over Jinwoo Kim’s 1.7M. While both have been winning their share of pots, Hong has claimed the bigger pots. The recent win saw Kim raise to 240k and Hong call. On the flop Q 5 4, Hong check-called a 190k bet. On the 4 turn, both checked. Then on the river 7, Hong bet 650k and got Kim to call. Hong turned over Q 10 for two pair.

Paul Hong wins another couple of good pots

Jinwoo Kim raised to 160k, Paul Hong called. At the flop Q 8 6, both checked. At the turn A, still check check. With the river [5c} Paul sent out 450k and Kim called. Hong showed Q 8 for a winning two pair.

On another hand, the board showed J 6 6. Hong check-called Kim’s 200k bet. On the 10 turn, he check-called 250k to bring on the river 9. Both checked and Hong won with J 7 two pair.

On the sixth hand of heads up, both players were all in. Kim raised to 180k, Hong three-bet to 550k, and then the shoves happened.
