Alexander Ugay narrowly escaped elimination at the hands of big stacked Kam Ip Yuk. We caught the action at the result but we were given a quick rundown by one of the players. On a turn board of 6♦ 7♦ J♣ 8♠, Big blind Yuk checked, Ugay bet, Yuk raised, Ugay shoved, and Yuk with the quick-call.
Yuk J♥ 6♥ two pair
Ugay A♠ J♦ top pair
Needing some luck on the river, the A♥ appeared to improved Ugay to a higher two pair. Ugay doubled up to over 300K while Yuk dropped but still very health with around 400K.
Li Xiaoling called Fu Xin’s all in and faced a 50/50 with her 10♣ 10♦ against his K♣ Q♦. The board ran 5♦ Q♥ 2♠ J♠ J♥ for a higher pair spiked by Fu. Li shook her head as she paid the double up that dropped her down to 6bbs. A few hands later, she was able to chip up. She three-bet shoved a raise by Paul Hong and won the pot with no challenge. She is now at around 22K.
We just reported on Jinwoo Kim dropping down to 5 bbs, well, that’s all in the past. Walking past his table, we noticed he was up to around 52k and was currently all in. Action began with Kim raising to 4500, Jae Kyung Ro called, seat 8 player three-bet to 12.5k, then back to Kim who shoved. No one was brave enough to call and he shipped the pot.
The next hand he raised once again and two players joined to the flop Q♠ 6♥ 8♥. Action folded to Jae who moved all in and won the pot with no callers. Jae showed pocket 8s for a set.
APT Korea Incheon 2017 runner-up Jinwoo Kim just took a beating to his stack. He was all in with 7♥ 7♣ and Jae Kyung Ro with A♣ 10♣. The board ran 2♣ 3♦ Q♣ K♦ J♦ for a straight and double up to Jae. Kim dropped to under 5bbs.
On a completed board of 2♣ 7♠ 8♠ 9♥ 5♠, Yoichi Uesugi bet 7k onto a 14k pot, Sota Nakazaki raised to 17k, Uesugi shoved with 52k total sending Sota to the tank. He eventually folded.
was moved to table 7, joining a couple of other big stacks, Stephen Nathan and Masaki Fujitani. He seems to be doing well having chipped up to near 400K. He dropped a bit though in this hand against Hyun Kyun Bae.
Yuya raised 4k from the button and Hyun defended his big blind. At the flop A♠ A♥ 3♣, Hyun check-called a 10k bet and the turn 5♥ landed. Yuya bet 15k, and this time Hyun switched up check-raised to 45k. Yuya folded. Yuya down to 355K.
Chip leaders Ken Okada and Kam Ip Yuk are mighty forces at their tables right now.
First action we caught was Okada winning two pots back-to-back. His first pot saw two players fold to his flop bet for a small take. The second pot was against Scott Janik. On a raised pot preflop, the flop came K♣ J♥ 4♠. Okada bet 3k and Janik smooth-called. On the 10♠ turn, Okada checked, Janik slid out 8.5k, Okada called. On Q♣ river, no bets were fired and Okada won with K♦ Q♠ two pair. Janik showed his hand K♥ J♠ for two pair at the flop.
At a separate table, three players stared down a flop of 3♥ 7♠ 8♠. Seat 1 bet 8k, Yuk raised to 25k, one player folded, back to seat 1 who jammed, and a snap-call by Yuk.
Seat 1: 3♣ 8♣ two pair
Yuk: 10♠ 9♣ draw
The turn 6♠ instantly awarded Yuk the straight and with the 4♥ river, that completed the hand and Yuk scooped up the pot while railing Seat 1 in the process. Yuk now over 400K.
