Another player has gone down before the close of the day, Chung Iwakura was ralied by Sang Gu Kim. Kim kicked off the action with a 21k raise, Chung shoved 112k, Kim called.

Sachiko Harima eliminates Carlo Calingasan

The lone Filipino player in the field, Carlo Calingasan, just went down at the hands of Sachiko Harima. Harima limped, Paul Hong limped, Calingasan shoved 107k, Harima shoved as well, and Hong got out of the way.

The board ran 5 8 K 2 4 for a pair to Harima and the boot to Calingasan.


Teruhisa Aoyama wins the war against Jinwoo Kim

Level: 16 Blinds: 3000-6000 Ante: 1000

Big stacks went at it preflop with Teruhisa Aoyama raising to 13k, Lei Chen calling, then Jinwoo Kim with a three-bet to 60k. Action back to Aoyama. He four-bet to 136k, Chen folded, so did Kim.


Kelvin Beattie knocks out Takuya Suzuki

Level: 16 Blinds: 3000-6000 Ante: 1000

Kelvin Beattie is picking up momentum in this last level of the day. He has just claimed another sizable pot, railing Takuya Suzuki in the process. Beattie raised to 14k, was three-bet to 41k by Shota Hirao, Suzuki went all in for 31k, Beattie four-bet to 100k, and went head-to-head against Suzuki after the re-raiser folded.

The board ran 2 K 9 6 8 for trips and the pot. He now has 400K.


Kelvin Beattie shoves Masuda Shota

Level: 15 Blinds: 2500-5000 Ante: 500

Big pot at table 3 between Kelvin Beattie and Masuda Shota. With around 180k already brewed in the middle and a complete board of K A 3 9 3, Beattie was all in sending Shota tanking. Shota opted to fold.

Fokin Valeriy doubled up with K Q called by Kosei Ichinose J 9 with initial raiser Roman Shcherbakov folding his A-J. The board ran Q 9 6 3 3.

Paul Hong double up through Ken Okada in a lucky two-outer catch. Hong had 7-7 and Okada with 8-8. The board ran 4-7-3-Q-Q full house to Hong.

Before the field downsized to three tables, Jae Kyung Ro doubled up through Shin Martin. Ro was all in with A K and won the draw against Martin’s 9 9 with the board running J 4 6 2 K.

Martin was able to recover the chips through Jinwoo Kim with his 2 2 holding against Kim’s A 5.


Alexander Ugay dips then climbs, nears 500K

Level: 15 Blinds: 2500-5000 Ante: 500

Alexander Ugay raised to 11k, Teruhisa Aoyama three-bet to 32k, Ugay flat-called. At the flop A 3 9, Ugay checked, Aoyama c-bet 26k, and was called. On the 9 turn, action was the same with Ugay check-calling 60.5k. On the 7 river both checked and Aoyama won with A K. Ugay showed K K.

Next hand, Ugay eliminated Otsubo Yosuke with 10-10 on a board 7-9-3-7-5. Yosuke didn’t show. Ugay with 490K.


Hyun Kyu Bae delivers Luke Romyn as the bubble!

Level: 15 Blinds: 2500-5000 Ante: 500

After Jinwoo Kim railed a player, it was the official start of the bubble round with 30 players remaining. With action still to complete at one of the tables, players didn’t have to wait long for it to burst with Luke Romyn falling to Hyun Kyu Bae.
