Morihiko Ogawa hung in there with his short stack but met his end at the hands of Daiki Horikawa in 9th place. He fell just one spot shy of the Final 8.
Ogawa was all in with A♠ K♣ up against Horikawa’s A♣ J♦. Though he was ahead, the board ran 3♠ 6♦ J♣ J♠ 3♣ for a full house to Horikawa. Ogawa earned ₩4,570,000 for his deep finish.
The first casualty of the unofficial final table was Soichiro Kojiya. Kojiya was all in with Q♦ Q♥ and was called by the leader Tsubasa Kamei with A♥ 10♥. The board ran 3♥ 6♦ 6♥ for a flush draw to Kamei. The turn wasn’t a hear but it was A♠ to push Kamei ahead with a higher pair. Then with the river J♣, that ended the hand and Kojiya’s day in 10th place. He earned ₩3,906,000.
Kamei now up to 1M in chips.
Stu Terakawa shipped in a big double up against one of the leaders, Tomoharu Furuya. Hands tabled were Furuya K♣ Q♠ and Terakawa K♦ K♠ with a board of 8♣ K♥ 7♦ J♥ 2♣. We aren’t sure when the all ins were but likely at the flop.
Terakawa doubled up to 435k. Furuya dropped to 470k.
The last female in the running has just been eliminated. Aya Kagawa bounced back from a cooler two rounds ago but still could not bring her stack to the heights of the leaders. She wasall in with A♦ 10♥ and was called by Yosuke Murata with Q♦ Q♠. No hits came on the board. She bowed out in 11th place and earned ₩3,338,000.
This brings us to the unofficial final table of 10 players.
