Kitauchi Yoshihiro going upwards, now at 1.36M

Level: 19 Blinds: 6000-12000 Ante: 2000

Kitauchi Yoshihiro seems to be headed in one direction, upwards, and way upwards. He claimed another pot to drive his stack to 1.36M. The hand saw a flop of 10 Q 8, Kazuto Sato bet 60k and got called by both Yoshihiro and Kimiharu Nakamura. On the 7 turn, no bets were laid out bringing on the 2 river. Sato led for 50k and Yoshihiro raised to 140k. This sent Sato tanking for quite a long time, it was a surprise that time wasn’t called on him. He eventually folded.

Albert Paik vs Andy Li Xueyan

Level: 19 Blinds: 6000-12000 Ante: 2000

We haven’t been able to catch much action of the day’s entering chip leader, Albert Paik. It doesn’t mean he hasn’t been in the action. Paik has been grinding but is still on even keel with roughly the same stack as when he started, 760k.

We did catch a pot between him and Andy Li Xueyan. With a raised pot before them and a flop of K 4 K, Paik check-called Xueyan’s 80k bet and the turn came 10. Xueyan bet 200k and this time won it without a challenge. Xueyan up to 940k.

Kitauchi Yoshihiro railroading, soars to 1.1M, Yuki Ko out in 18th place

Level: 19 Blinds: 6000-12000 Ante: 2000

Immediately after chunking down Yuki Ko, Kitauchi Yoshihiro won the next two pot and soared to 1.1M in chips. On the first hand he was in a four-way raised pot pre-flop and watched the flop spread 5 Q 4. Everyone checked and the A turn came down. Shigeho Yoshioka bet 41k and was called by both Kazuto Sato and Yoshihiro. On the 4 river, action was checked to Yoshihiro who slid out a 50k bet and won it with no callers.

The next hand, Yuki Ko moved all in for 64k, Yoshihiro and Taehoon Han called. The board drew out to J A K 8 Q with no bets made for a side pot. Yoshihiro won with his Q Q set over Ko’s A J two pair. Ko earned KRW 2,330,000 for his 18th place finish.

Yoshihiro joins Jinwoo Kim in the million range with 1.1M in chips.

With the pot beefed up from a raise preflop, there players stared down a flop of Q J 9. Kitauchi Yoshihiro led with a 35k bet, one player folded, then Yuki Ko moved all in with 400k. Yoshihiro didn’t even bother to get a count, he tossed the ceremonial one chip in to signal the call.

Shocking split!

Level: 18 Blinds: 5000-10000 Ante: 1000

It was supposed to be a big hand with one player going up and another either going down or busting out. But neither happened. The hand started off owth Taehoon Han raising to 20k. Kimiharu Nakamura called, then Yuki Ko three-bet to 77k. Han moved all in, Nakamura got out of the way, and Ko called for his tournament life.

Han A 5

The board drew out 7 5 4 8 3 for a “play the board” flush to both players.

Clock called on Naoki Morita, Jinwoo Kim at 1.5M

Level: 18 Blinds: 5000-10000 Ante: 1000

Naoki Morita was put in the heater by chip leader Jinwoo Kim to eventually have the clock called. The hand kicked off with Morita bumping it up to 24k, then Kim three-bet to 65k. Morita called and the flop ran Q 3 Q. Morita checked, Kim fired out 45k, then it Morita check-raised to 160k. This did not seem to threaten the leader who quickly announced all in. This is when Morita was stopped in his tracks. He folded just seconds before the timer ended.

Commanding chip leader Kim now at 1.5M.

Iori Yogo and Shigeho Yoshioka double up
