The biggest stacks, Albert Paik and Jinwoo Kim went head-to head in this hand with Kim initiating the action with a 65k raise on the utg seat. Paik called from the big blind and the flop ran 9♦ A♣ 5♦. Paik checked, Kim bet 80k, and it was called. On the 7♣ turn, both players checked it for a free river K♥. Jumping out was Paik who switched gears and bet 100k. Kim called and mucked after seeing Paik’s 7♦ 9♠ two pair.
Paik up to 3.1M, Kim down to 2.25M.
Jinwoo Kim has denied Iori Yogo a pot sending Yogo down in chips. Kim raised to 60k preflop and Yogo called. On the flop 7♦ 4♥ 3♣, Yogo checked then called Kim’s 65k bet. On the J♦ turn, Yogo checked, Kim bet 125k, and this time Kim won it with Yogo opting to fold up.
Yogo is down to 620k, Kim up to 2.6M.
Yuichi Sumida may be the shortest stack but he is actively trying to bring it up. He did so in this hand up against Kazuto Sato. Sumida raised to 80k preflop and Sato called on the small blind.
The flop landed 2♣ 7♦ 10♣, Sato checked, Sumida bet 75k, and got the call. On the 9♠ turn, Sato checked, Sumida moved all in, and won it with Sato folding.
Sumida up to 750k, Sato down to 1.380M.
Iori Yogo is one of the short stacks at the fina 7 players and is in need of a boost. He picked up a little in this hand against Jinwoo Kim. Yogo raised to 80k and Kim called to see the flop run Q♥ 7♦ 9♦. Kim checked, Yogo continued with a 100k bet, and Kim folded.
Yogo now at 750k.
Yuichi Sumida raised to 65k and Albert Paik paid the raise to see the flop 8♦ J♠ 4♥. Both players checked it to the turn of 5♣ and still no bets. On the Q♥ river, Paik shoved and had Sumida way covered. Sumida tanked for a bit then folded.
Paik climbed to 2.8M, Sumida down to 450k.
The next two hands had Kazuto Sato up against the big stacks. On the first hand he raised to 70k, got re-raised to 145k by Jinwoo Kim which he decided to fold to. Following that, he did his own re-raising with Albert Paik first with a 75k bump which Sato drove further to make it 180k to go. Paik called.
On the flop 3♦ 7♠ 5♣ both checked. On the 7♥ turn, Sato bet 150k and won it with no challenge from Paik.
Entering the Final 8 running third in chips, Kitauchi Yoshihiro could not go any further up. He lost multiple big pots to drive his stack way below average until he was in desperate need of a double up. He moved all in with A♣ 3♠ and was called by Albert Paik with K♦ Q♠.
With the board running 5♠ 10♠ K♥ 6♥ 10♦, Yoshihiro was eliminated in 7th place and earned KRW 6,640,000 for his finish.
We are down to the final 6 players. Paik is the chip leader with nearly 2.8M in chips.
Like we saw in Day 3, Jinwoo Kim is once again attacking the felt and this time we saw him involved in the next four hands.
The first hand Kim won a small pot against Iori Yogo then entered the next pot up against Andy Li Xueyan. During this hand Kim raised to 65k and Xueyan called on his big blind. At the flop K♠ 6♠ 5♣, Xueyan checked then called Kim’s 75k bet. On the 4♥ turn, Xueyan checked again, Kim bet 175k, then faced a 400k raise from Xueyan. Kim folded. Xueyan showed his 8♦ 6♠.
The next one was another loss to Kim who doubled up Yuichi Sumida. Albert Paik kicked it off with a 75k raise, Kim called, Sumida moved all in, Paik folded, and Kim called.

The board came J♣ Q♣ 10♥ 8♥ 9♣. Sumida doubled up to over 800k.
Although he lost that pot, Kim made up a little of it on the next hand. He raised to 65k and was called by Kazuto Sato. At the flop 6♥ J♦ A♦, Kim bet and Sato quickly folded.
The first casualty of the Final 8 has arrived and it was Kimiharu Nakamura falling to Albert Paik. Nakamura moved all in with his remaining 315k and Paik called on the big blind.

Although he was momentarily ahead, the board ran 10♦ 2♠ 8♦ 8♥ J♠ improving Paik to a pair. Paik continues to drive his stack higher, now at 2.6M. Nakamura earned KRW 5,380,000 for his 8th place finish.
