Jinwoo Kim loses a couple of pots, drops to 1M

Level: 20 Blinds: 8000-16000 Ante: 2000

Jinwoo Kim was on a roll earlier, chunking down his tablemates. His flurry of wins has slowed as we saw him lose a couple of pots to bring his stack down to 1M. But that’s not exactly small with the average stack still far below. Getting some capital off Kim was Naoki Morita and Hisashi Tamura.  Both are still below average stack.


Kimiharu Nakamura wins two pots and grows to 840k

Level: 20 Blinds: 8000-16000 Ante: 2000

We are now at 12 players remaining and with it came Kimihura Nakamura on the rise. He won two pots back-to-back to bring his stack to 840k. We caught the action of the first pot with a board showing K 4 4. Nakamura and Kitauchi Yoshihiro checked and the turn felted K. Yoshihiro bet 200k, Nakamura moved all in, and won the pot when Yoshihiro folded.

The next hand Nakamura was up against Yuichi Sumida. Nakamura raised to 40k and Sumida called. On the flop of 3 10 J, both checked and the turn fell 3. Sumida led for 48k, got raised to 200k. Nakamura won it with Sumida folding up.


Andy Li Xueyan at 1.2M, busts Takato Ariake in 13th

Level: 20 Blinds: 8000-16000 Ante: 2000

Takato Ariake was the next casualty of the Main Event going all in with A-3 but running into Andy Li Xueyan’s A-K. Ariake earned KRW 2,780,000 for his finish.

Xueyan grew to 1.2M in chips.


Taehoon Han falls in 14th to Kazuto Sato

Level: 20 Blinds: 8000-16000 Ante: 2000

Kazuto Sato pushed all in with his 286k and Taehoon Han joined him with his shorter stack.

The board ran 7 10 A 8 4 for a winning nut flush to Sato and the elimination of Han in 14th place. Han earned KRW 2,780,000 for his finish.

Naoki Morita eliminates Yoichi Uesugi in 15th place

Level: 20 Blinds: 8000-16000 Ante: 2000

Yoichi Uesugi moved all in with his short stack and got called by Naoki Morita. Uesugi had K-4 that could not overtake Morita’s 7-7. Uesugi out in 15th place for a KRW 2,780,000 payout.


Good call by Shigeho Yoshioka exposes Taehoon Han’s bluff

Level: 19 Blinds: 6000-12000 Ante: 2000

Taehoon Han and Shigeho Yoshioka engaged in a hand that saw a 22k raise preflop. On the flop of 10 2 4, Han continued and sent out 24k, Yoshioka called. On the 10 turn, both checked. Then on the J river, Han bet 42k which Yoshioka once again matched up.

Yoshioka exposed Han’s bluff and shipped in a good pot for his good call.


Genki Nakano railed in 16th place by Albert Paik

Level: 19 Blinds: 6000-12000 Ante: 2000

Genki Nakano has left the Main Event in 16th place after getting booted by Albert Paik. It began with Paik bumping it up to 25k then Nakano moving all in with 247k. With a big stack backing him up, enough to call Nakano, Paik called.

The board ran dry and Paik shipped in all the chips. He now has 900k. Nakano earned KRW 2,330,000 for his finish.


Kimiharu Nakamura doubles up through Taehoon Han

Level: 19 Blinds: 6000-12000 Ante: 2000

Kimihura Nakamura put his entire tournament lifeline on A K and was up against Taehoon Han with A 7. When the flop ran 3 7 10, Nakamura stood up getting ready to split the scene. But with the 5 turn and Q river appearing next, he  happily sat back down, shipping in a double up with his nut flush. Nakamura now over 400k.

Once in a while those wild and crazy hands make landfall and we are always glad to have seen the action to report it all back to the reading public. The hand began with Shimooka Yoichiro raising to 26k, Iori Yogo on the small blind and Albert Paik on the big blind both called.

On the flop of 5 9 8, action was checked to Yoichiro who sent out 42k. Yoogo called while Paik bowed out. On the turn Q, both players checked for a free look at the river 5. This is when the fireworks occurred with Yogo betting 175k followed by an all in by Yoichiro. Yogo snap-called.

Taking a look at the hands it was a full house over a higher full house and with Yoichiro on the lower end of both the spread and the stacks, he was eliminated in 17th place. He earned KRW 2,330,00 for his finish.

Yogo has climbed to 865k in chips and is now well out of the red. Nice comeback from a very short stack entering Day 3.
