As the final 27 player cut nears,numerous short stacks have gone wild sending their chips in the middle. For Nguyen Hoai Nam and Nguyen Huu Ha, their shoves couldn’t have come at a worse time with Noiret Sebastien right there to call them down with his huge stack.

When the flop dropped a dramatic A♥ 8♠ K♦, Nam picked up top two pair however Sebastien had better with a set. The turn got even crazier with 2♦ improving Ha to a set (though still behind Sebastien). Then with the river 6♠, it was a double elimination with Sebastien’s three snowmen shipping it in.
Andrew Greenwalt had all his chips at risk holding K♣ 8♦ and was called by Siyoung Lee with 10♠ 8♠. When the flop landed J♣ Q♦ 9♦, it was a quick straight for Lee. However, the turn 10♣ also gave Greenwalt a straight – a higher one at that – and he doubled up with the 6♥ completing the board.
Once again, it was at table 17 where all the action seemed to be taking place. We’ve seen numerous sick hands, big hands, and wild sets over sets. This hand was no different with Adrian Esslen delivering the boot to two players, Mohammed Samara and Hoang Duc Cong.
Catching the action on a turn board of K♠ J♠ 3♠ 6♥, all three players found themselves all in with Esslen dominating in chips.

While Hoang was done for, Samara had a chance if the board paired. He called out for it but it did not materialize with the 2♠ coming on the river.
Action between two Korean contenders began with a 50k raise by Siyoung Lee. SJ Kim popped it up to 138k and Lee called. On the flop 3♦ 2♥ 4♣, Lee checked, Kim bet 115k, and Lee flat-called. On the 10♥ turn and 10♦ river, both players slowed to a check and Lee won it with his 8♦ 8♥.
Nguyen Ngoc Nghia is certainly back in the running. He shipped in two double ups (on separate occasions) and is inching near the average stack. His first double up was through Loic Muller with A♥ 10♥ overcoming Muller’s J♦ J♥ with a flush. His next refueling came from Maxim Kuznetsov with pocket kings over pocket queens.
Mohammed Samara has seen some of the craziest hands go down at his table and this time he was on the receiving end of a sweet boost. He was all in with pocket jacks and faced Harry Duong with pocket sevens. Both players connected with a set and with Samara holding the higher spread, he doubled up.
Tan Tai Dinh picked up another sizable pot after railing Dung Nguyen Van. We caught the action only at the shipping and had enough time to see the board K♥ 10♠ 3♥ J♣ A♦. Dung had K♠ J♠ two pair but Dinh had better with A♠ A♥ set.
On a flop 8♠ 9♥ 7♦, Charalampos Lappas and Nguyen Ngoc Phuc were both all in. Lappas with Q♣ 10♥ and Nguyen with 10♣ 10♦. The turn Q♥ may not have been the straight Lappas was hunting for but a queen was just as good. With the river 7♥, he doubled while Nguyen dropped way down.
