Having just lost a pot to Falcon, Kopyl Waldemar won the next one on a fantastic read. Waldemar raised to 2100 from the button and big blind Taka Tamura defended. At the flop 6 2 6, Tamura checked, Waldemar bet 1500, Tamura raised to 3600, Waldemar called. On the K turn, Tamura led for 9600 and was called again. Then on the K river, Tamura sent out 16k, Waldemar gave it some thought, then slid out the call. Tamura showed 5 3 bluff and Waldemar won it with Q 9. That’s a queen high call!

Waldemar got some pats on the back for that one. He now sits with 270k.


Michael Kim Falcon doubles up with quads

We jumped over to table 18 where we saw Michael Kim Falcon double up through Kopyl Waldemar with 8 8 landing quads over A K on a board 8 4 8 7 9. Falcon told us that just before that he had a set of twos that got beaten by a player that completed a flush. Falcon sits with around 45k.


Van Ngoc Binh storms to 260k

We’ve got another player charging up the ranks, Van Ngoc Binh is now at 260k after winning three hands. The first pot saw Quang Nguyen open with 2300, it was re-raised by one player to 7k, Binh four-bet to 17k, Quang tank-folded and the other player shoved. Binh snap-called. Binh had A A over A K. The board bricked and out went one player. Binh up to 200k.

The next winning hand saw a flop 7 10 3 with three players in the hand. Binh bet 5500 and found one caller in Julien Tran. On the 6 turn, both checked. On the river Q, Binh shoved and Tran tank-folded. Binh showed one card 3.

The third pot began with Quang raising to 2300 and called by three players that included Binh. On the flop 2 A K, Binh bet 6300, it was followed by a fold-fold, and a check-fold by Quang.


Long Korea tanks a player

Level: 11 Blinds: 500-1000 Ante: 1000

Utg player Long Korea and Trung Bazen went head to head for this pot that started with Long raising to 2200, Trung three-bet to 5500, called by Long. At the flop K 4 Q, Long check-called a 6k bet. On the J turn, Long checked, Trung fired 16k, Long shoved 60k, and Trung went to the tank. The clock was called on Trung and he timed out. Long kindly showed his A 10 straight.


Jeonggyu Cho puts the heat on

On a flop 4 2 8 and 11k in the middle, Jeonggyu Cho checked, Quang Nguyen raised 1600, Stephen Schumacher re-raised to 9k, Cho four-bet to 27k, back to Quang who tanked then folded. Schumacher folded as well.


Lim Yo Hwan loses two pots

A decorated APT champion, Lim Yo Hwan aka Boxer, got involved in a couple of hands that didn’t give him any returns. The first hand saw him raise to 1800, called by three players. At the flop 4 5 10, all checked. On the 8 turn, Lim Koon Ting Daniel bet 4500, two players folded, one of them was Boxer. Daniel was called by Tai Hoang . The river 2 was checked by both and Hoang won with 7 8 pair over Daniel’s J 9 that missed.

Following that hand, Dinh Tan Tai raised to 1800, cutoff Boxer three-bet to 5100, Tai called. On the flop 2 4 7, Tai checked, Boxer fired 4300, Tai raised to 9300, Boxer folded.


Sherwin Basti joins the leader’s club

Sherwin Basti went from 127K at the start of the day which was half an hour ago to 230k. He is now one of the leaders. Basti kindly shared the hand for posting.

Basti raised from utg to 2k, found one caller, another three-bet to 7k, big blind called, then back to Basti who four-bet to 28.5k, the next two players folded, big blind shoved around 76k, and called by Basti.

Basti had pocket K-K against A-10 suited. The board bricked.


Quang Nguyen sends one packing

The day’s entering second ranked chip leader, Quang Nguyen, is also back in top form driving his stack to 230k by sending one out. On a flop 9 8 3, Quang checked, Mu Chen shoved, and then the call.

A decent one for Dhaval Mudgal

Dhaval Mudgal got a little boost to his stack after winning a pot against two other players. Mudgal raised 2k from mid-position and got called by button Lim Lung Huan and big blind Andreas Rauh. At the flop 2 2 3, Mudgal c-bet 2500 and both opponents called. The turn 3 and river 5 saw no bets and Mudgal won with A 9. Rauh had 7 9, Lim mucked.
