After a preflop raise war, Cao Ngoc Anh 10 10 called Aleksei Opalikhin’s shove. Opalikhin held Q Q. The board ran dry for a double up to Opalikhin.


Nguyen Duc Bien maintains big stack

Nguyen Duc Bien continues to be the big stack at his table. We caught one of his hands in this level. Indian player Vivod raised to 2800 from cutoff, Bien three-bet to 7700 from sb, Vivod called. At the flop Q 7 10, Bien bet 6k, Vivod raised to 17.4k, Bien called. On the 6 turn, Bien pushed and won the pot with no challenge. Bien up to 240k.


Hero call sends Nguyen Ngoc Nghia to 240k

Nguyen Ngoc Nghia squirmed uncomfortably on a shove by Long Korea (Dinh Gia Long). The action prior had Long raise to 3k, Nghia three-bet to 12k, called by Long. At the flop 2 J 8, Nghia c-bet 16k, Long called. On the 5 turn, Nghia checked, Long jammed his 63.3k stack leading to Nghia to tank for some time. The clock was eventually called and on the last second, he found the courage to call.

Upon seeing Long’s A 8, Nghia slapped open his 9 9 higher pair. And with the 9 river, he shipped it while sending Long out in the process. What a call! Nghia started the day at 12,700 and he is now at 240k.


Action pot goes to Nguyen Hoang Linh

Utg player Tien Quyet Pham raised to 2500, Nguyen Hoang Linh three-bet to 8k, the player beside him four-bet to 21k, Pham got out of the way while Hoang called. At the flop J 4 A, Hoang checked, a 17k dropped, Hoang slid out a big raise, and won the pot with a quick fold from his opponent.


A good pot for Tai Hoang

Son Putin raised to 2600 and went to see the flop K J 8 with three players in tow. Action was checked to cutoff player Lim Yo Hwan, he took a stab with 4k. Only big blind Tai Hoang called. On the 10 turn, no bets. The river 8 saw Hoang bet 8600 and Yohwan tank-called. Hoang showed 8 Q for trips and took the pot with Yohwan mucking.


Huu Dung Nguyen takes the lead

We have a new chip leader and it is a very well-known player not just in Vietnam but for APT followers as well. Currently at the top is Huu Dung Nguyen, the first-ever APT Championships Event winner. Huu is backed by around 340k. One of the bigger pots he won was against J. Chia.

It began with Huu raising to 3k, called by both Chia and Nguyen Dang Long. At the flop K 5 3, Huu sent out 5k and only Chia called. On the 9 turn, Huu checked, Chia bet 8k, Huu called. Then on fifth street 7 Huu checked once more, Chia fired out 18k, and he still got called. Huu had K J top pair to win it against Chia’s 4 4.


Cao Ngoc Anh building it up

APT decorated champion Cao Ngoc Anh is slowly building up his stack. One of his winning hands saw him defend his big blind from a raise and the flop landed 5 7 6. Initial raiser c-bet 4200, one player folded, Cao check-called. On the 8 turn, Cao led for 8k and claimed it with no challenge. He now has 150k.


Zong Xin busts one

Zong Xin raise to 2200 Hien Duoy A K moved all in with his short stack, Xin called with 9 9. The board bricked and Duoy was out. Xin up to 152k.
