Nguyen Hoang Linh called Lew Yin How’s 70k all in. Lew with 4♥ 4♦, Linh J♠ J♣, the board offered no hep to Lew. Linh now at 390k.
On a completed board 10♥ 4♦ 9♠ 6♠ 6♦ and a 70k pot weighing down the middle. bb players Alan King Lun Lau bet 43k and Chul Ho Bae tank-called. Lau J♦ Q♣ bluff, and Bae with a great call with A♠ K♦ ace high. This sent Bae up to 400k.
Several hands later, Bae lost a little to Lau on a preflop war. Lau raised to 12k, Bae three-bet to 35k, Lau four-bet to 78k, and Bae folded.
Sherwin Basti pushed all in with his 90.5k stack and told the players at the table that it was his birthday. If anyone busted him out in this hand, they had to console him with a beer. Down the orbit Sim Kok Wai called.
Wai J♠ J♥
Basti A♥ K♦
The flop 3♠ 3♥ K♠ looked good for Basti with his top pair but then the 8♠ turn card was a big scare as it gave Wai additional outs for a flush. Basti asked the dealer not to do it but still, the river A♠ came down and Basti was eliminated. Beer time!
Deja vu seems like we did this too yesterday… that is reported on Mai Te’s rise during the first hands of the day. Well, he railed Wang Ka Cheong just moments ago and climbed to 620k.
The hand saw a raise to 11k by Wang from cutoff and was called by both blinds with Te on the big. At the flop 5♣ 7♥ 8♦, sb checked, Te bet 20.5k, Wang raised to 55k, Te shoved well covering Wang. With 67k behind, Wang went ahead and put it all on the line.
Wang opened A♠ 8♥ top pair but was in a world of hurt upon seeing Te’s 4♣ 6♦ straight. The turn 4♠ and river 10♦ ended the hand and ended Wang.
The day’s entering chip leader, Van Ngoc Binh with a quick stack boost here by shipping in all of Jason Pereira’s chips. Catching the action at the completion, the board was 5♠ 9♠ K♥ 3♥ 4♠. Pereira with K♦ 9♦ two pair that fell to Binh’s Q♠ J♠ flush on the river. Binh now at 600k.
Before the start of Day 3, Meherzad Munsaf told us he needed to double up his stack of 8 bbs. He did just that on the first deal of the day with A-K spiking a king to overtake pocket fives. Munsaf is having a decent run at the festival so far with two cashes.
