Bubble round action: Winning pots and Double ups

Several pots won during the bubble round.

– From cutoff, Thomas Lind min-raised and bb Michael Soyza defended. When the board ran out 4 5 10 4 J, Lind triple-barreled 15k, 25k, 36k, all check-called by Soyza. Lind showed 3 4 trips to take it.

– Park Ju Yuk took some off Michal Polchlopek. It was three-way raised pot, flop A 2 4, bb Tsai checked, utg Polchlopek bet 12k, called by button Park, Tsai folded. On the turn 3 and river 6 both checked. Park won it with A J.

– Chin Te Lai all in with A A called by Zhou Yueyang A 9, the board ran 2 7 9 4 10 for a dominating nut flush to Chin. He shipped over 300k.

– En Ching Wu entered numerous pots today that didn’t go his way. He finally pushed with J J and Luke Lee made him sweat it with K J. Lee missed the board entirely for a double up to Wu.


Carlos Chang doubles up to 320k

Level: 18 Blinds: 2500-5000 Ante: 5000

Carlos Chang got full pay for his straight with K 10 off Michal Polchlopek’s pocket queens top set on a board 3 Q J 5 9. Chang up to 330k.


Three-way sends Lindop out, Tsai up, and Polchlopek to 670k

Level: 18 Blinds: 2500-5000 Ante: 5000

We just lost our first casualty of the day and it was the only WSOP champion in the field, Alex Lindop. Despite his earlier rise, he met his end in a three-way shove. Action opened with hijack Chi-Ying Tsai all in, called by cutoff Michal Polchlopek, then button Lindop shoved, Polchlopek called.

The cards ran 10 8 7 2 4 for a double up to Tsai and the exit for Lindop. Polchlopek zoomed to 670k.

We now enter the bubble round with 33 remaining.


Hsu Piying doubles up with queens

Level: 18 Blinds: 2500-5000 Ante: 5000

The first all in of Day 3 came with Hsu Pi Ying risking it with pocket queens. He was challenged by the day’s entering chip leader Hwang Sang Yeon with pocket eights. No bad beat arrived for a double up. We are still at 34 players.


Alex Lindop wins a couple

Level: 18 Blinds: 2500-5000 Ante: 5000

Opening hand saw Chris Chong and Alex Lindop engage for a pot that awarded Chong 20k off Lindop’s stack. However, Lindop was able to recover the lost chips and more in two hands to bring his Day 3 starting stack from 205,500 to 264,500.

He won a pot against Chong with a higher two pair holding pocket nines with a pair of sevens on the board. Next one was off the lone APT decorated Main Event champion remaining, Carlos Chang. On a three-way limp, Lindop bet 18.5k on a flop A 5 4, bb check-folded, utg Chang check-called. On the turn 6, Lindop fired 38k, Chang folded.
