We caught another sizable pot get shipped, this time to Zarvam Tumboli courtesy of Tatiana Barausova. On a completed board of 10 3 6 5 8 and a pot of 19.5k in the middle, Tumboli fired out 12.5k. This sent Barausova in contemplation but then she opted to call. Tumboli produced 9 7 straight.

Stephen Nathan tells Shiqiang Lin to save his chips

Level: 9 Blinds: 300-600 Ante: 75

Stephen Nathan is one of the more chatty players at the felt. He also likes to get in on as much action as possible. We caught the final betting round on this hand with 30k in the pot and a board of 5 K 10 A 4. Nathan had a 13k bet before him while Shiqiang Lin took a long pause before acting. Nathan gave Lim some advice and told him to better just hold on to his chips. After several light banter between the two, Lin called. Nathan showed Q J straight and won the pot. Lin said he had A-K.

Nathan has now well doubled his stack entering the day and sits with around 115k.

Tang Jia fallas to Kazuhiko Yotsushika

Level: 9 Blinds: 300-600 Ante: 75

Table 10 is due to break next so we decided to check out the action before the players were shuffled off. We noticed that Danny Tang has vanished while Yang Zhang has climbed to over 100k. Our timing was perfect with action underway and lots of chips on the table.

Hung Sheng Lin raised to 1400, Kwok Luen Hei called, Tang Jia three-bet to 4500, big blind Kazuhiko Yotsushika shoved, and only Jia went to tango for all his chips.

Yotsushika 7 7
Jia A K

The board drew out A 6 3 for a higher pair to Jia but with the turn 7 and river Q, that spelled the end for Jia.

Kalyan Chakravarathy wins three in a row

Level: 9 Blinds: 300-600 Ante: 75

Day 1B’s chip leader, Kalyan Chakravarathy is on a roll! He is the biggest stack at his table and got even bigger after winning three consecutive pots. We caught the first winning hand as it was being shipped to Chakravarathy with no callers on his flop bet.

The next hand, NIshant Sharma raised to 1400 in late position, Chakravarathy three-bet to 3600, and unlike yesterday’s face-off, Sharma decided to fold this hand instead.

The largest pot Chakravarathy came on the subsequent hand against Yue Feng Pan. The leader raised to 1500 and Pan defended on the big blind. At the flop A 5 4 and turn J, Pan check-called bets 1500 and 2700 respectively. On the 4 river, Pan checked again, Chakravarathy slid out a bet more than enough to put Pan all in. After a few minutes in the tank, Pan folded leaving himself a short 11.2K behind.

Chkravarathy now nearing 115K.

Early departure for Sparrow Cheung

Level: 9 Blinds: 300-600 Ante: 75

Sparrow Cheung became one of the day’s early casualties. He entered with a very low stack of around 12x the big blind and risked it all when he opened up Q-Q. From the small blind seat, he three-bet shoved Andrew An’s cutoff raise and was snap-called. An had the winning initials, A-A. The board bricked and Cheung filed out.

Day 2 begins!

Coming in with the largest stack from the combined starting days is Wei Guoliang with 131,525. Wei has been on fire at the finale. Not only did he top Day 1A but last night, he also won the No Limit Hold’em 1 Day 2 event. The only other player to cross the six digit range with Wei was Yang Peng with 103,125.

Good luck to all! We will update you on the action as it unfolds here today.
