Kalyan Chakravarthy falls hard to Michal Soyza – now at 450k

Michael Soyza continues to own the felt! Prior to this insane hand, he was already sporting the largest stack with around 350k and 46 players remaining. After this hand that sent Kalyan Chakravarthy booted out of the game, it will likely take several more rounds before anyone may have a chance at catching up to the leader.

Entering Day 2, Chakravarthy had one of the biggest stacks having topped Day 1B. He climbed higher in the opening round and managed to keep his stack well above the 100k range. Then it all fell apart in one hand. Action began with Chakravarthy raising to 4k, Soyza three-betting to 16k, and Chakravarthy with the call.

At the flop K-Q-5, Soyza fired out 22k and Chakravarthy called. On the 7 turn, Soyza shoved his massive stack and Chakravarthy took the risk with around 70k behind.

Chakravarthy Q-6 offsuit

Needless to say everyone was shocked at Chakravarthy’s sick call for his tournament life and of course for calling the three-bet preflop. Still, he was ahead with a pair. When the river came down with a 9, it was all over for Chakravarthy. Soyza improved to a straight and shipped in the enormous pot before him.

Soyza now at 450k in chips.
