In a battle of the blinds, Victor Chong shoved on the sb seat and short stacked Hung Sheng Lin slid it all in.

The board was a bit dramatic as it ran 6♦ 4♦ J♣ improving Chong to a pair. On the A♥ turn, Lin took the lead, but with the J♠ on the river, Chong jumped back on top with trips and Lin was railed in 8th place. He earned HKD 88,100 for his deep finish.
Alecz Chan raised to 28k and Kai Paulsen three-bet all in. Chan called.

With the board running 6♣ 5♦ 3♠ 2♥ A♦, Chan spiked a higher pair to eliminate Paulsen in 9th place. Paulsen earned HKD 79,700 for his deep finish.
We finally saw a big hand go down at the final table with lots of good action along the way. Terry Tang kicked it off with a 26k raise from the utg seat and Burns called on the big blind. On the flop 10♣ 3♠ 4♠, Burns check-called Tang’s 35k bet. On the 7♦ turn, it was the same with Burns check-calling a 56k bet. On the 2♣ river, Burns checked, Tang fired out 100k, Burns raised to 329k, and Tang called.
Burns A♥ 5♦ straight won the pot and zoomed to 985k while Tang dropped to 290k.
Justin Chan kicked off the new round picking up the opening pots. On the first hand, he called Kahle Burns’s 26k raise and the flop ran 7♣ 9♦ 8♣. Both checked and the turn 10♠ landed. Chan bet and won it with a quick fold from Burns.
The next hand Chan raised 28k preflop and won the blinds and antes with no callers.
After numerous hands going by with raisers instantly picking up the pot, we have now reached a flop! The hand began with Kahle Burns raising to 22k and Michael Soyza calling on the bb. The flop 6♣ 5♣ 4♥ saw both players check and the turn came J♣. Soyza checked again, Burns bet 38k, and Soyza called. On the river 10♣, it was back to checking and Burns won with 9♣ 9♥ flush over Soyza’s K♦ 4♣ lower flush.
Sparrow Cheung was the first player to the collection booth having just fallen in 10th place. He struggled with a very short stack all day and managed to hold on to reach the money round. He moved all in on the second hand of the final table and was up against Kai Paulsen who also shoved.

During hand-for-hand, Ryuichi Utsunomiya shoved and no one called however on his second one he was called by Justin Chan. Utsunomiya 4♦ 4♥ and Chan J♥ J♦. The board offered no help to Utsunomiya and he was eliminated. Utsunomiya did avail of the bubble protection which meant, he doesn’t walk away completely empty-handed. He wins a consolation prize of APT credits equivalent to the value of the Championships Event.
After an hour and 15 minutes into the Championships Event, the first player has been eliminated bringing us to the bubble round. Dong Guo moved all in with 66k and Alecz Chan called.
