Le Ngoc Khanh rails Namie Hirai

Namie Hirai is on her second bullet today and still couldn’t get any further than one round. She three-bet jammed holding K Q and Le Ngoc Khanh called with A 10 . No hits for either on the board and Khanh won it with his higher spread.


Lester Edoc doubles up his very short stack

Level: 10 Blinds: 800-1600 Ante: 200

Lester Edoc hasn’t been on the receiving end of the pots and has dwindled down to 11.1k. He moved all in on the utg seat and won the blinds and antes to bring him up to around 14k. On the next hand, he was all in again and was up against Tetsuya Tsuchikawa.

Board ran dry and Edoc doubled up to 30k.


Ichiyo Niwa up to 320k

We haven’t recorded any action on Ichiyo Niwa but an update is definitely in order. Niwa was one the day’s entries, coming in at the very start of Day 2. He eliminated Jack En Ching Wu during that round. Into this new round, he has amassed 320k though we missed the action. We will keep tabs on him as he seems to be running hot.


Victor Chong gets some pay from Takumi with his four snowmen

Level: 10 Blinds: 800-1600 Ante: 200

It’s always a beauty seeing top five-card spreads earn hefty pots. For Victor Chong his quad 8s did just that. The action on the flop J 7 8 saw Takayasu Takumi bet 25k onto a 33k brewed pot preflop. The utg player folded and Chong called down the orbit. On the 8 turn, both checked it. Then on the K river, both players engaged in an intense stare down. Takumi checked, Chong bet 41k, and Takumi tossed in the call. Chon won with 8 8 quads.


Gyeong Byeong Lee wins a sizable pot

Level: 10 Blinds: 800-1600 Ante: 200

The day’s entering chip leader Gyeong Byeong Lee lost some chips prior to this hand below but he back as on top with his 350k stack. Catching the action on a flop Q 5 J with three players battling and 13k splashed in the middle.

Action was checked to button Marius Zalyps who sent out a 6500 bet. He was called by big blind Ji Young Kim while Lee responded with a check-raise to 16k. Despite the bet jump, he was called by both and the turn came 3. Action again sent to Zalyps. He slid out 20k. Kim folded and Lee called. On the river 9, not bets came and Lee won with Q J two pair.


Masato Nikawadori full house double up

Masato Nikawadori earned a nice double up with his K K full house on a board 8 10 J 8 K. He was up against Teng Wei Yang with bets splashed at every round. Yang called the river shove and mucked on the boat.

Yohwan Lim knocks two out

Level: 9 Blinds: 600-1200 Ante: 200

Yohwan Lim delivered a double knockout, luckily those player can still re-enter. The hand began with a raise by Namie Hirai to 2700, called by Lim, then Michael Kim Falcon three-bet all in with around 36k. With less chips, Hirai called and so did Lim who had the largest of the three.

Eric Wasylenko shoves Shimizu out of the pot

Level: 9 Blinds: 600-1200 Ante: 200

Action kicked off with Takao Shimizu raising to 2700, Eric Wasylenko three-bet to 9500 on the small blind, and Shimizu called. On the flop 6 K 10, Wasylenko bet 7500, Shimizu raised to 17k, Wasylenko replied with a shove, and Shimizu folded.
