Siyoung Lee out in 16th place – PHP188,200

Level: 18 Blinds: 5000-10000 Ante: 1000

Siyoung Lee fell in 16th place. He was all in with A-Q but couldn’t improve against Kosei Ichinose’s K-K. He earned Php188,200 for his deep finish.


Yun Bong doubles up through Chua Shan Hui then gives it back

Level: 18 Blinds: 5000-10000 Ante: 1000

Yun Bong moved it all in with under 45k and Chua Shan Hui made the small call. Bong A and Hui with ad} 10. The board ran K 10 K A J for a celebratory straight to Yun.

Several hands later they met again. Yun with A Q again and Hui with J J. The board ran low and this time Yun paid the double up. Yun down to 30k while Hui up 125k.


Kosei Ichinose vs Fu Bang Huang

Level: 17 Blinds: 4000-8000 Ante: 1000

Action began with a 17k raise from Kosei Ichinose and Fu Bang Huang defended on the big blind. At the flop 7 6 10, Ichinose bet 30k and Huang check-called. On the K turn, action was the same with a 67k bet called by Huang. Then on the 7 river, both checked. Huang showed 10 8 but Ichnose had better with K Q. Ichinose now up to 780k.


Big stacks battle! Lester Edoc pushes out Kosei Ichinose

Level: 17 Blinds: 4000-8000 Ante: 1000

Big stacks go head to head! Action began with Ichiyo Niwa raising to 25k, Lester Edoc called, Kosei Ichinose three-bet to 100k, Niwa folded, then Edoc shoved.

Ichinose folded. Edoc showed K K.


Another short stack paid, Teng Wei Yang doubles up

Level: 17 Blinds: 4000-8000 Ante: 1000

Teng Wei Yang is the next player to get a boost in artillery. Fu Bang Huang shoved on the small blind and Yang went to tango for all of his chips. Huang J 3 and yang A 6. The board threw blanks and Yang took it down. He now has 180k.


Tetsuya Tsuchikawa pumped up to 250k

Level: 17 Blinds: 4000-8000 Ante: 1000

Opening hand immediately saw Tetsuya Tsuchikawa all in but finding no callers. On the next hand, he shoved again and got called. His A-10 paired up and he shipped in a double up to 250k.


Shinchi Takenouchi out in 17th place – PHP188,200

Level: 17 Blinds: 4000-8000 Ante: 1000

Shinichi Takenouchi is the first casualty of the day. After doubling up Ichiyo Niwa, he was all in with A Q again and Fu Bang Huang called with A K. The board ran 9 J A 5 8. Takenouchi earned Php188,200 for his deep run at the event.


Ichiyo Niwa doubles up on the first hand of the day

Ichiyo Niwa three-bet all in on top of Henrik Tollefsen’s 20k raise. Down the orbit Shinichi Takenouchi called the 82k but Tollefsen opted to fold. Niwa Q Q, Takenouchi A Q. The board bricked out and Niwa shipped it.


Day 3 begins! Race to the Final 8

Good afternoon everyone and welcome back to the APT Philippines Championships 2018 here at Resorts World Manila. The Championships Event has just kicked off with the final 17 players gunning for a final table berth. Only 8 players will advance to tomorrow’s race to the title.

Last night closed with the money reached. Here are all the important info for all of you followers out there.

– Players begin at Level 17, blinds at 4000-8000 ante 1000 with 27 minutes remaining
– Average stack is 294,118.
– Total chips in play is 5,000,000
– Lowest payout at Php188,200

The chip leader coming into today’s round is none other than the recently crowned APT Main Event champion, Lester Edoc. He sits with a towering 1,162,000 in chips. On the clear opposite end of the totem pole is Yun Bong with 77,000. These two players have met before with Yun also at the main finishing in 5th place.
