Gabitan’s Stack Grows

Anthony Gabitan started the day with around 30,000 and finally got the double-up after four levels.

The Filipino shoved with J J his final 32,200 and got a call from Jeon Seung Soo. Jeon showed A K and needed help to survive. Never came on the turn 7 4 3, neither on the turn Q nor the river 4.

Gabitan doubles to about 69,000 while Seung Soo is down to 20,000.


Valantiejus vs. Benasa

Level: 13 Blinds: 800-1600 Ante: 200

Martynas Valantiejus bet 3,300 preflop and got re-raised by Mark Benasa to 7,000. Valantiejus replied with a three-bet to 11,000, which was called by Benasa.

Both players checked the flop A 3 2 and on the turn 9 Valantiejus led out a big 10,000. Benasa folded his hand.


Patni Pressured to Fold vs. Gaw

Level: 13 Blinds: 800-1600 Ante: 200

On the board 4 8 8 Q, Andrew Gaw check-raised Kunal Patni’s 7,800 bet to 20,000, putting Patni at risk if he calls. Patni tanked a bit but eventually got away from the hand to drop to 12,000. Gaw now climbs to about 70,000.


Pangan Eliminates One

Level: 13 Blinds: 800-1600 Ante: 200

From under the gun, a player moved all in his final dozen thousand with A 10. Too bad for him, Luke Pangan woke up with A A and easily called.

Board ran out 5 Q 9 5 4 and Pangan’s aces cant be cracked. Another one bites the dust, we are down to 94 players.


Rivera Scalps Gibson, Now Has 160K+

Level: 12 Blinds: 600-1200 Ante: 200

Series of raise and re-raises preflop got both Marc Rivera and Lawrie Gibson shoving:

Flop J 4 10

Set vs. set affair, and Rivera claims the pot– and Gibson’s tournament life– after the turn 2 and river 5.  Rivera has now over 160,000.


Flopping Full: Bansal Eliminates Kitajima

Level: 12 Blinds: 600-1200 Ante: 200

On the turn of the board 6 8 6 9, Raghan Bansal bet 20,000 to force the fold from Hieu Le and isolate Hayato Kitajima who was already all-in. Bansal showed the pocket eights for the flopped full house and Kitajima mucked his hand. Kitajima is out of the main event.


Hui Surviving (Yao Hui强势胜出!)

Level: 12 Blinds: 600-1200 Ante: 200

Yao Hui bet 1,500 on the board 8 4 6 10 8 and Hyung Taek Jo raised to 4,000. Hui re-raised and Taek Jo called.

Hui shows 7 10 and he takes down the pot.

Bansal Beats Le

Hieu Le opened to 2,800 and saw a re-raise from Raghan Bansal to 7,500. Le called.

Le check-folded to Bansal’s 7,500.


Counterfeit: Le Up, Olsson Down

Level: 12 Blinds: 600-1200 Ante: 200

With a big pot of around 30,000 and the community J 5 7 3 3, Douglas Olsson bet a big 20,000 against Hieu Le.

Le thought for a long time, actually got called for time, and made the call the last five seconds…
