Big board says we have 92 players for Day 1B and now confirmed by APT tournament director Lloyd Fontillas. Dinner break is done and we’re scheduled to play the last two one-hour levels of the day!

Currently at 85 players, Day 1B will have a one-hour dinner break. Registration for this day ends at 8:20 PM or the same time the break ends so we might see the total runners today reach the century mark.

Short-Stacked Euryd

Level: 6 Blinds: 150-300 Ante: 25

Adrian Lim Yah Loon bet 2,450 on a board of 10 2 4 8 only to see Euryd Rivera raise to 5,500. Yah Loon shoved in response and forced Rivera to fold. Euryd is now down to about 5,000, less than 20 big blinds.


Strom Strong Turn

Level: 6 Blinds: 150-300 Ante: 25

Tommy Strom  was up against Hideki Takafuji for a pot of over 9,000 with the board of   4 10 6 Q. Takafuji tried to take down the pot with a 6,000 bet, but Strom shove his final 19,000 or so. Takafuji tanked but eventually got away from this one. Strom has now around 34,000.


Big Bluff, Big Bully Mateo

Level: 6 Blinds: 150-300 Ante: 25

Board read 5 2 K J 8 and a dozen thousands in chips. From under the gun, a player bet 4,000 only to see Christopher Mateo, the table’s chip leader, shove!

The UTG player tanked… but eventually got away from his hand.

Mateo proudly shows 6 3 for complete air!


Simba Nearing Century Mark

Level: 6 Blinds: 150-300 Ante: 25

Simba opened 700 preflop and had two callers including Brian McAllister.

Flop: 8 K 5

Simba initiates again, this time for 1,075, and again was called by both opponents. All put the breaks on the turn 9 and on the river [2d} Simba fired a bigger 3,000.

Simba showed 9 9 for a turned set and McAllister loses a few more after an earlier hit to his stack. Simba has now around 87,000.


Uy’s Cowboys Doubles Him Up

Level: 6 Blinds: 150-300 Ante: 25

Fernan Uy woke up with the Cowboys with just about a dozen thousand in chips. He shoved and got an easy call from Brian Mcallister who had the Big Slick.

Uy wanted no ace to survive and the board Q 3 3 5 10 cooperated and he doubles up to about 25,000.
