Yasuyuki’s Ducks

Level: 6 Blinds: 150-300 Ante: 25

SJ Kim raised to 700 and had four callers. Dealer flopped 6 9 8 and all players checked. Turn 2, the UTG player bet 1,600, Tsuji Yasuyuki made it 4,100 and only the UTG player made the call. River 3 landed, the UTG player check-called  Yasuyuki’s 7,000 bet.

Yasuyuki shows pocket deuces for the turned set and his opponent mucked his hand.


Gabitan Quadruples Up, But Still Short-Stacked

Level: 6 Blinds: 150-300 Ante: 25

Anthony Gabitan quadruples up with A 8 on a board of A 8 2 K Q.

Too bad for the Filipino though, he only had 700 left.

Still, 10 big blinds is still better than 3 big blinds.

 


Buck’s Kings Cripples Gabitan

Level: 6 Blinds: 150-300 Ante: 25

After a series of raise and re-raises pre-flop, it was all-in for both Kenneth Buck and Anthony Gabitan.

Buck: K K
Gabitan: A K

Flop: J 2 9
Turn: 7
River: 7

Gabitan can’t spike the ace and he drops to around 1,000— way, way crippled (3 big blinds) at this point of the tournament.  Bucks’ Kings brought his stack to over 43,000.

 


Arce Re-Enters, Wins Nice Pot

Level: 6 Blinds: 150-300 Ante: 25

Neil Arce has re-entered the tournament and this time, he’s off to a nice start.

Kai Paulsen opened preflop to 600 and got two callers including Arce and the player from the button.

Flop:   4 3 7

Paulsen checked and so did Arce but saw the button player fire 1,150 to the middle. Paulsen called, Arce re-popped to 4,500– forcing both the raiser and Paulsen to throw away their hands.


Fujiya Re-Pops

Level: 5 Blinds: 100-200 Ante: 25

With a 12K pot already in the middle and all community cards 9 4 Q 10 3, a player from the big blind bet 3,500 but saw Yoichi Fujiya add around 9,000 more… BB player folds to give the pot to Yoichi, who has now around 45,000.


Yogo Falls to the Ladies, Busts Out

Level: 5 Blinds: 100-200 Ante: 25

Iori Yogo wants the all-important APT POY points by doing well in this main event. A few hundred points away from Sam Razavi, who is currently No. 1 in the APT POY 2015 rankings, Yogo needs to re-enter the main event if he wants to close the distance.

Yogo was up against Jeonghan Lee of Korea in a serious re-raising battle preflop. Lee raised, Yogo re-raised, Lee three-bet before Yogo decided to four-bet shove. Lee snap-called.

Trailing big time, Yogo never found the ace on the board 4 J 7 6 10. Yogo busted out and Lee climbed to roughly 63,000 in chips.


Patni Gets Some Back

Level: 5 Blinds: 100-200 Ante: 25

Beaten in a previous hand versus Felix Weis, Kunal Patni got some back off Noel Araniel.

A UTG+1 player opened to 700 and saw Noel Araniel re-pop to 1,700. Patni wanted more and three-bet to 4,700. The original raiser folded and Araniel flatted to bring the flop Q 4 Q.

Both players checked and the dealer turned 7 where Patni fires a big 5,000 and Araniel was forced to fold.


Weis vs. Patni, Again

Level: 5 Blinds: 100-200 Ante: 25

Felix Weis opened to 600 preflop and saw Kunal Patni make the call.

Flop: 6 J 4

Weis  initiated the action again, for another 600, and Patni called.

Turn: 10

This time, Patni opened for 1,600… Weis tanked a bit but made the call.

River: A

Patni initiate for a bigger 4,000 only to see Weis shove his stack worth about 20K! Patni folded and gave the nice pot to Weis.


Huang Beats Yogo Postflop

Level: 5 Blinds: 100-200 Ante: 25

Iorio Yogo, who is currently in second place in the APT Player of the Year 2015 Standings, opened to 600 preflop and got re-raised to 1,600 by Bryan Huang. Yogo made the call and the dealer flopped 10 J 3.

First to act, Huang fires 2,000– enough to force the fold from the APT POY contender.
