Loon with the better pair

Level: 25 Blinds: 12000-24000 Ante: 4000

Yah Loon and Le Ngoc Khanh engaged in the first hand of the day that made it all the way to the river. It began with Loon with a raise to 50k and Khanh called from the big blind. At the flop of K Q 8, both checked for a free turn card of 2. Acting first, Le slid out 65k and Loon flat-called. When the river felted a Q, both tapped the felt and revealed their hole cards. Le had J 2 for bottom pair which was not good enough against Loon’s K 9 top pair.

Pre flop wars dominate the felt

Level: 25 Blinds: 12000-24000 Ante: 4000

Silent but deadly action at the felt with pre flop raises ruling the felt. In one hand, action began with chip leader Yah Loon raising to 50k, three-bet to 125k by Yao Hui, four-bet to 280k by Loon, then a respectable fold by Hui.

Immediately after, Luke Pangan took a stab and raised it to 48k only to be faced with a re-raise to 115k by Weiyi Zhang. Pangan gave it up.

Following that hand, Herbert BaumĀ gave it a go with 48k but Le Ngoc Khanh pumped it up to 127k giving the German something to think about. Baum folded and Le earned his second pot of the day.

Active Javalera wins against Hui

Level: 25 Blinds: 12000-24000 Ante: 4000

After losing the first pot, Jun Javalera was not fazed. With blinds now up, he raised to 48k, and was called by Weiyi Zhang and Yao Hui, both of whom were on the blinds. At the flop of A 4 K, both blinds checked giving Javalera the go signal to take action, which he did. Javalera bet 100k getting Zhang to fold but a call from Hui. At the turn of 6, both players slowed to a check. Then on the river of A, Hui checked to Javalera who fired out 150k. This was enough for the win as Hui sent his cards to the muck pile.

Le wins first pot of the Final 8

Level: 24 Blinds: 10000-20000 Ante: 3000

Action kicked off with the first pot of the day going to Le Ngoc Khanh. From mid-position, Jun Javalera raised to 40k and was called by both Le and Weiyi Zhang on the big blind. At the flop of K 3 J, Zhang checked, Javalera continued with a 40k bet, only to see Le raise it up to 125k total. Zhang got out of the way leaving Javalera to ponder on his next move. Javalera opted to fold and Le was awarded a good early pot.
