Malaysia’s Joshua Tan is also out of the main event.

Holding pocket fours he was in an uphill battle against Kai Paulsen’s pocket nines. No help on the board of 2 Q A 8 2 and Tan finished in 22nd place for PHP 136,900.


Marc Rivera Exits in 23rd Place -PHP 136,900 (Zhang Weiyi连续击败两位菲律宾知名选手!)

From under the gun, Marc Rivera shoved his final 80,000 with A 8. Unfortunately for him Weiji Zhang woke up with K K and snap-called.

Daniil Khvan Out in 25th Place (PHP 136,900)

Daniil Khvan of Uzbekistan is out of the main event.

Pre-flop shove action between the short-stacked Uzbek and Jun Javalera, one of the bigger stacks so far,

Zhang Adds More via Paulsen (Zhang Weiyi再次胜出!)

On a raised pot with a flop 4 9 9, Kai Paulsen led out for 28,000 and got the call from Weiyi Zhang. On the turn Q, Zhang initiated the action betting 68,000. Paulsen called to bring the river 3. Both checked, Zhang shows 9 8 and Paulsen mucked his hand.

Short-stacked Bryan Huang shoved and Jun Javalera isolated him with a re-raise to 30,000 to force everyone else to fold.

The popular pro is out of this main event in 27th place and settles for PHP 136,900.


John Tech Can’t Avoid Bad Beat, Out in 28th Place (PHP 106,500)

Level: 19 Blinds: 3000-6000 Ante: 1000

Pre-flop all-in between John Tech and Weiyi Zhang.

Tech: A Q
Zhang: A 8

Tech has a good shot of doubling-up on this one and the flop J 7 K provide no trouble for the Filipino pro.

However, the turn 8 landed to give the lead to the Chinese player. Tech can’t find his outs on the river 5 and our Cebu main event champion is out of the tournament.
