Flush over Flush Costs Huerto His Tournament Life (14th Place – PHP 205,400)

On a wet board 9 K 10 5 A, both Joven Huerto and Paawan Bansal were all-in– and for good/great reasons:

Huerto: Q 8
Bansal: K 4

Huerto’s flush not enough to beat Bansal’s and the Filipino’s good main event run is over.  He finishes in 14th place for  PHP 205,400 while the Indian pro moves on with over 600,000 in chips.


No More Miller Time (15th Place – PHP 205,400)

Level: 21 Blinds: 5000-10000 Ante: 1000

Holding pocket sixes, USA’s Brad Miller decided it was time to double-up or go home with his final 70,000 or so. India’s Paawan Bansal  was a willing customer and called his shove.

Miller: 6 6
Bansal: A 10

Flop A J J immediately changed the lead in this one and the turn K and river 7 confirmed that Miller’s time in the main event is over. The American settles for 15th place for PHP 205,400.


India’s Raghan Bansal Busts Out in 16th Place (PHP 167,400)-Zhang Weiyi再发神威力擒印度选手!

Level: 21 Blinds: 5000-10000 Ante: 1000

Weiyi Zhang opened to 23,000 and saw Raghan Bansal shove 160,000. Zhang tanked a bit but made the call.

Lebanon’s Hanna Khalife Eliminated in 17th Place (PHP 167,400)

Lebanon’s Hanna Khalife is busted out of the main event in 17th place.

Khalife decided A J was enough to risk his tournament life for a shove but Jun Javalera, who has one of the bigger stacks today, had A K and made the quick call.

Flop Q 9 2, turn 9 and river 6. With no jacks on the board, the Lebanese pro exits for PHP 167,400.


Pangan’s Low Pockets Holds for the Double-Up

Level: 21 Blinds: 5000-10000 Ante: 1000

Luke Pangan shoved his final 129,000 and got a call from Thomas Ward.

Flop 9 J 9  spelled trouble for Pangan but Ward’s outs never came on the turn/river 4/ 8. Pangan doubles up after this win.


Lim Double Off Aces

Level: 21 Blinds: 5000-10000 Ante: 1000

Daniel Lim peed to 21,000 preflop and got jammed by Herbert Baum, who had him covered. Lim snap-called!

Board ran out 2 6 5 2 Q and Lim doubles-up.


Spets Exits in 18th Place (PHP 167,400)

Level: 20 Blinds: 4000-8000 Ante: 1000

Yao Hui, one of the chip leaders so far, opened for 22,000 and Roger Spets jammed. Hui made the call.

Spets: 6 6
Hui: A K

Spets’ double-up looked good on the flop J 4 7 but the turn 8 gave Hui new outs. It came on the river 9 and another one bites the dust in this main event. Spets settled for 18th place for PHP 167,400.


Masatoshi Out in 20th Place, Tran in 19th Place (PHP 136,900)

Level: 20 Blinds: 4000-8000 Ante: 1000

Short-stacked Tanaka Masatoshi called a shove from Weiyi Zhang to put his tournament life at-risk.

Masatoshi: A 10
Zhang: J J

No ace on the board and Masatoshi is out of the main event in 20th place (PHP 136,900).  At about the same time, Linh Tran followed suit and also made his exit in 19th, also for PHP 136,900. Both just missed on the pay jump as the 18th place finisher will get paid PHP 167,400.


SJ Kim Up to 700K

Level: 20 Blinds: 4000-8000 Ante: 1000

On a raised pot on the flop A 8 3, SJ Kim check-called Daniel Lim’s 22,000 bet. On the turn 10, Kim check-called again on Lim’s C-bet of 47,000. On the river 5, Kim checked again, Lim triple-barreled to 54,000 and once again got called by Kim.

Lim: K 7
Kim: A 9

Kim takes down the pot and climbs to roughly 700,000. Lim drops to 54,000 or so.
