Two players were all-in on the flop 9♠ 5♦ Q♠.
Jake Chen: 9♥ 9♦
Cutoff: 5♣ 5♠
No fives on the turn and river and Chen wins the set-up hand. He climbs to over 35,000 while busting out the opponent.
With a large pot already brewing on a board of 9♣ 7♦ A♦ A♥, a mid-position player check-called Joven Huerto’s 1,000 bet. On the river 2♠, the MP player bet 6,000, Huerto re-raised all-in and got called.
Huerto: A♣ 9♠
MP Player: 7♥ 7♠
Huerto busts out a player and climbs to about 38,000– one of the big stacks at this point of Day 1C.
A mid-position player opened to 150 preflop and got called by two players including Michael Falcon and the big blind.
Flop: 2♥ K♣ 4♦
MP player fires another 350 and got Falcon to call but a fold from the BB.
Turn: 7♣
MP player C-bets to 550 and this time Falcon threw away his hand.
After a series of raise and re-raises pre-flop, both Jun Funabashi and Euryd Rivera were in still in the hand when the flop Q♦ 6♣ K♠ arrive. Funabashi fired 1,750 and got a call from Euryd to bring the turn 10♦. Funabashi fired a bigger 4,600 and Euryd again easily called to bring the river 8♥. Funabashi shoved his final dozen thousand or so and got called by Euryd, who was the player at risk in this showdown.
Funabashi: K♦ K♥
Euryd: Q♣ Q♥
Set vs. set! Euryd busts out of Day 1C and we’ll have to see if he decides to re-enter this one after the set-up hand.
With a pot of over 7,000 and the board 5♣ 3♦ J♠ 4♥ 5♠, we saw a mid-position player bet a big 5,050 to send Fubo Huang to the tank. He eventually called, showed A♣ J♣ for the two pairs and beat his opponent’s pocket sixes.
We did not catch much of the action but we saw Chin Ting Huay shove on the river of a board K♠ 3♣ 4♥ 2♦ K♦. A player at-risk called and was shown the bad news: Huay held 5♥ 6♥ for the straight and he climbs to about 35,000. Another player is out of Day 1C.
A hand after misplaying his hand (or chips), a player got busted out shoving blind and was up against Makoto Ogino.
An early position player opened to 150, the player shoved blind and Makoto Ogino went all-in as well with his huge stack. Ogino successfully isolated the player at risk for the showdown:
Ogino: Q♠ Q♦
Opponent: K♠ 6♣
The board ran out 4♠ 4♦ 2♥ 9♦ 5♥ and Ogino adds a few more to his already growing stack.
WARNING: This is one way to lose PHP 50,000 without a sweat; pick up the wrong color of chips during your raise, which put you virtually all-in and very much committed to shoving afterwards.
A mid-position player opened to 150 and got re-raised by Dhaval Mutgal to 500. Makoto Ogino wanted more and three-bet double to 1,000. The mid-position player wanted even more with a FOUR-BET to 10,000*! Mudgal quickly threw away his hand and Ogino snap-called (for a very good reason).
Ogino: A♠ A♣
MP Player: A♥ K♥
Flop: 8♦ 10♦ J♣
Turn: 6♠
River: 3♠
*After the hand, we learned that the MP player “unintentionally” put those two yellows (5,000 each) and intended to four-bet to just 2,000. We’ll never know if that is exactly what his intention was.
The dealer already boarded the entire community J♣ J♥ 9♦ K♣ 8♠ and three players already created a nice 2,000 pot.
The player from the small blind checked, the mid-position player followed his lead but Georges Chehade took a stab with 1,600 bet. SB player folded while the MP player called.
Chehade shows A♣ J♦ for the set and took down the early pot.
