Ruth G., Set of 9s Oust Arce

Level: 5 Blinds: 100-200 Ante: 25

Neil Arce opened to 800 preflop and got four callers.

Flop: 9 4 Q

Arce C-bets to 2,500 forcing all to fold except Ruth Graham, who flat-called.

Turn: A

Arce fired 7,000– the last of his chips and got a quick call from Ruth G.

Arce: Q 10
Ruth G: 9 9

Drawing dead, Arce busts out of the tournament and Ruth G continues to stack ’em up.

Second 10-Minute Break of the Day

Level: 4 Blinds: 100-200 Ante:

But before the break, we saw Bryan Huang, who already has a short stack, river-bet on a board of A 2 5 2 Q against Japan’s Gerard Bringley, who folded to give the nice pot to the Singaporean pro.

Arce Doubles Up

Level: 4 Blinds: 100-200 Ante:

Holding pocket sevens and very short-stacked Neil Arce decided it was time to double up or go home (or re-enter). Arce was all-in against Kunal Patni, who had the overcards K J.

The dealer boarded 8 4 Q 6 3 and Arce survives this flip and now has around half the starting stack.

Ajwani Doubles to 40K with Miracle River

Level: 4 Blinds: 100-200 Ante:

In an unraised pot on a flop of 7 A 6, two players shoved and for good reasons:

Amit Ajwani: A 7
Alexis Lim: 7 7

Lim was ahead but needed to avoid an ace; he did on the turn 2 but can’t on the river A as Ajwani completes his own boat.

Ajwani has now over 40,000 in chips.

Takayama’s Great River Call

Level: 4 Blinds: 100-200 Ante:

With a large pot in the middle and on a board of 4 5 J 2 7, Due Diong “Jerry” Bui bet 8,100 just about the pot size against Mike Takayama, who took some time in the tank before making the call.

Bui: A Q
Takayama: A 4

Takayama, who is the defending champion in this APT Asian Poker Series Main Event, wins the nice pot after a great read/call.

Another Aces Cracked, Courtesy of Ruth’s Kings

Level: 4 Blinds: 100-200 Ante:

From the hi-jack, Allan Hon raised to 700 and saw Ruth Graham re-raise to 2,500. Hon three-bet to 18,700 to send Ms. Graham to the tank, for quite a long time. Ruth eventually called and shoved his final 19,725 and Hon called.

Hon: A A
Graham: K K

Hon was way ahead but the flop 3 K 10 immediately changed the fate for these two players! No ace on the turn 5 and river 2 and Hon’s stack is seriously crippled at this point. By hitting the two-outer, Graham has now over 40,000 in chips.

Drilon Climbs to Over 50K

Level: 3 Blinds: 75-150 Ante:

Flop: 8 7 4

From under the gun, a player bet 550 on the raised pot but saw Jose Drilon re-pop to 1,150. The UTG player made the call along with Jessie Leonarez.

Turn: 5

The UTG player checked, Drilon fired 3,500 and both Leonarez and the other opponent folded.

Drilon has now around 50,000 in chips.
