Action at the APT Asian Series Cebu 2014 continued Tuesday with Day 3 of the main event even as two winners from yesterday’s side events were awarded their APT trophies during the day.
Lester Edoc from the Philippines won the Fulpot Poker No Limit Hold’em event to earn PHP 539,000. The Filipino bested a field of 145 runners to win the Fulpot Poker-sponsored tournament, which has the highest buy-in (PHP 16,500) among all side events this week with the exception of the High Rollers.
Meanwhile, Pui Suen “Percy” Yung of Hong Kong prevailed in the Pot Limit Omaha Turbo event beating 113 others to take home PHP 141,400.
In the main event, 36 players returned for Day 3 and aimed for the champion’s purse of PHP 3,235,000, a lion’s share of the total prize pool which was set at PHP 13,341,000.
As of press time, the field was cut down to 14.
Still alive and kicking in the tournament are Euryd Rivera (Philippines), Stephen Miles (England), Linh Tran (Vietnam), Bryan Huang (Singapore) and Do Hoang Anh (Vietnam) among other notables.
The contenders play down to a 8-handed final table.
