APT Championship Ring

The APT Main Event is the most lucrative event at any APT at festival. It attracts many pros and notable players to the felt, making it a challenging field but worth all the glory for every winner. At the start of the year, the APT added a special prize to the Main Event, the APT Championship Ring. This is the only event where you can win one of these solid silver bands. Eleven of these have already been awarded with the next one eagerly on standby for its next champion. Things to know about the Main Event:

  • Players will play eight rounds today
  • Each level is 60 minutes
  • Late registration and re-entry is open until the start of round 7

Below is the full schedule:

  • Day 1A yesterday – Friday, October 7th
  • Day 1B today – Saturday, October 8th
  • Day 2 – Sunday, October 9th
  • Day 3 – Monday, October 10th
  • Final 8 – Tuesday, October 11th

Main Event Bubble Protection

At the start of the year, the APT added a fantastic new incentive, the Main Event Bubble Protection. This is definitely one perk everyone must have. This protection comes in very handy for the player who bubbles as he/she will receive a consolation prize of one free seat to the next APT Main Event of the same value only if that player has qualified for the protection. Here are the three simple steps on how to qualify for the bubble protection:

  1. Pre-register
  2. Draw for your seat before starting time
  3. Have your chips put into play on the first deal of round number 1

In regards to the mechanics, players who qualify for Bubble Protection will maintain that status on a same day re-entry. Players wanting Bubble Protection on a next day re-entry will have to repeat the steps to qualify.

Vietnam’s Duc Dung Bui wins the OFC event

OFC Pineapple Shootout Champion, Duc Dung Bui

The Open Face Chinese Pineapple attracted 11 players to the felt which include notable players such as Korea’s Jeon Seung Soo, In Chul Sin, Norway’s Kai Paulsen, and Japan’s Mitsuru Sano. All of them would miss the mark to the cash leaving UK’s Samad Razavi, Vietnam’s Pham Bao, and Duc Dung Bui battling it out for the title. The first one to the cash booth was Bao in 3rd place leaving Razavi and Bui at heads up. Bui came in with the larger stack and despite Razavi’s attempts to shave off some of it, it was too tough as Bui was destined for the trophy.

Payouts
1st Duc Dung Bui – Vietnam – P80,000
2nd Samad Razavi – UK – P48,000
3rd Pham Bao – Vietnam – P32,000
