The APT Asian Poker Series Cebu 2015 continues today at the All In Poker Club located at the Waterfront Hotel & Casino Lahug in Cebu, Philippines with Day 1B of the Main Event expected to draw more players.
64 runners joined yesterday’s Day 1A with Japan’s Gerard Mark Bringley climbing to the top of the heap with over 100,000 in chips. Who will join him as one of the leaders entering the next round?
Eliminated early yesterday but expected to try again today are popular pros Bryan Huang (Singapore), Norbert Koh (Singapore), Tetsuya Tsuchikawa (Japan) and defending Cebu champion John Tech (Philippines), among others.
27 players survived yesterday’s run with Japan leading the pack sending eight players to the next round. Along with Bringley, compatriots Iori Yogo, Hideki Takafuji, Masayuki Hakoda, Katsuhiro Muto, Azusa Maeda, Kenji Kurashina and Hiroyuki Noda have also advanced.
The locals from the Philippines have three players advancing to the next round; Mike Takayama, Elan Zak and Andrew Gaw.
Other notable pros in the running for the APT title are Roger Spets (Sweden), Inge Forsmo (Norway), Henrik Tollefsen (Norway), SJ Kim (Korea), Jason Powers (USA), Sam Razavi (UK) and Linh Tran (Canada).
Day 2 of the Main Event is set on Sunday at 1:00 PM.
Meanwhile, in the Open Face Chinese Pineapple Shootout, it was Yongwei Mu who won the title. For her efforts, she’ll bring home a beautiful trophy along with PHP 88,300.
