The APT Macau Championships 2018 wrapped up the two starting days of the featured Championships Event with a combined 89 runners taking to the felt at Macau Billionaire Poker in Babylon Casino. With everyone ponying up the HKD 22,000 buy-in, the event is already looking at a juicy prize pool of over HKD 1.7 Million. This number is expected to grow further with registration staying open for one hour in Day 2 on Friday, May 4, 2018. So for all you poker warriors, this is your last chance to enter!
The Championships Event is one of the Asian Poker Tour’s most prestigious No Limit Hold’em tournaments. Players start off with a deep 50,000 stack with blinds escalating at a slow 60-minute pace. When we enter Day 2, 50 survivors will return to the felt. Action resumes at 1pm starting at Level 9 blinds at 600-1200 ante 200. You can follow all the action in the Live Updates.
Recap of Day 1A and Day 1B
The past two starting days saw several players from China dominate the charts. The top three players overall were China’s Xian Xiao with 268,700, Jinqiong Shi with 237,200, and in third was Shi Zhikui with 194,000. All of these players racked up in Day 1B.
Joining the leaders with heavy stacks bagged as well were Day 1A leaders, Hong Kong’s Tso Wei with 159,700 and Chinese pro Guo Dong with 146,000. The third highest in this heat was Japan’s Kazuhiko Yotsushika with 133,000.
Other notables also advancing into Day 2 were Michael Soyza, Park Yu Cheung Sparrow, En Ching Wu, Justin Pak Kwan Chan, and newest APT Main Event champion Hung Sheng Lin. All of these players were at the final table of last year’s Macau Championships Event.
Day 2 will also see the likes of numerous pros such as Daniel Tang, Aditya Agarwal, Iori Yogo, Bobby Zhang, Kosei Ichinose, Zhang Chenxu, and Tetsuya Tsuchikawa.
