Yet again, the most prestigious poker event this side of the world has surpassed expectations for another successful run in the eight-day long poker festivities held at the All-In Poker Club in Cebu, Philippines.
Day 1B of the APT Asian Series Cebu 2014 Main Event drew 168 players, a considerable increase from yesterday’s opening figure of 131 runners. The total number of players in the main event is now set at 299, the most-ever for any APT Asian Series Cebu main event.
Seen at the tables for Day 1B are some notable pros in Asia, some of them re-entering after getting the boot yesterday. Among them are the Philippines best bets in Richard Marquez, Florencio Campomanes, Euryd Rivera, Mike Takayama, Jay Lubas, Martin Gonzales and Maria Carmen Esdaile.
The international contingent won’t be left behind as well with the presence of Tetsuya Tsuchikawa (Japan), Linh Tran (Canada), Ikawura Hajime (Japan), Charles Chua (Australia), Michael Falcon (Denmark), Jun Saito (Japan) and Jae Kyung Sim (South Korea).
Meanwhile, Jun Song from South Korea received his trophy for winning the NLH side event on Thursday. For his efforts, he won PHP 236,700 after beating a field of 125 entries.
