Three events running this year will see the introduction of a new series of 2-day poker events – APT Challenger Series – to be run monthly throughout 2016, organised by the APT Poker Room. Players will not only compete for monthly prize pools and winners’ trophies but also valuable Challenger Series Player of the Year points.
“In addition to the well-established APT Player of the year award won through competing in main tour APT events, we are now going to have a separate Challenger Series Champion” said Raymund Gamier, Operations Manager, APT Poker Room.
Rather than wait until 2016, APT will crown a Challenger Series champion for 2015 by way of three events to be staged this year starting with an inaugural 4-day Challenger event from 17-20 September; followed by the standard Challenger 2-day format set for 30-31 October and 27-28 November.
The Challenger Series Player of the Year 2015 will not only receive a unique trophy but will be awarded a P50,000 credit to be used at any APT event. 2nd place finisher will receive trophy plus P25,000 credit and 3rd place trophy plus a P12,500 credit.
