HomeThe Asian Poker Tour will be adding a new name to the list of Main Event champions today! With the final 12 players all seeking their first APT championship title, it is destined to be an exciting day of poker at the APT Manila 2017 here at the Winford Hotel & Casino.
The PHP 38,500 Main Event registered a total of 82 entries for a prize pool of PHP 2,783,900. The eventual winner will earn the top prize money worth PHP 757,800. The player in the best position to capture his first APT title is UK’s Neil Raine who topped the combined starting days and last night’s Day 2. He comes in as the most dominant force with 1,217,000 in chips. No one even comes close to his monstrous stack.
Among those returning with the leader is the Main Event Warm Up champion, Korea’s Joon Won Lee with 205,000. Another notable player is Japanese pro Kosei Ichinose with 106,000. Both players are below average stack and will have to rake in those chips to catch up to the leader. There is also one hope left for the locals, William Ysmael with an above average stack of 411,000. Today will also determine who among the returnees will fall as the bubble with only 10 players getting paid. Three players do have bubble protection, Taro Kimura, Koji Asaka, and Yohei Miura.

Mark Sy wins the Pot Limit Omaha Hi
Running alongside Main Event Day 2 was the Pot Limit Omaha Hi. The event ran for nearly 12 hours before the trophy was claimed by Filipino player Mark Sy. Throughout the festival, Sy has been posting some decent marks, running deep in a couple of earlier side events. His efforts came to fruition, finally landing a title by overcoming a field of 37 players. He pocketed a cool PHP 100,500 and earned a qualifying ticket to the Game of Champions.. Kenta Hino takes down the WeLoveSport event
Out of the 51 players that participated in the WeLoveSport Deep Stack Turbo, the final five round was domintated by the Japanese with Kenta Hino rising above his fellow compatriots to ship in all the chips and the event trophy. Hino earned the PHP 54,800 first place purse and also landed himself a qualifying ticket into the Game of Champions.
