Last Chance to Enter the Main Event Today!

We are back for another poker filled day at the Asian Poker Tour Finale 2015 at Waterfront Manila Pavilion Casino Filipino with the final day one flight kicking off at 1pm. This event has a P50,000 buy-in fee with unlimited re-entries until the end of eight levels. Players who qualified into yesterday’s day one flight may also re-enter to try and qualify with a bigger stack for day 2.

Day 1a action saw a total of 79 entries with 34 players remaining at the end of tournament play. Lithuania’s Arunas Sapitavicius landed the chip leader’s seat with his 103,200 chips. In second rank was Filipino player Joven Huerto with 99,075 chips. Another qualifier was Japan’s Iori Yogo with 46,425 chips. Yogo is currently in a tight race for the APT Player of the Year title against current leader and APT triple crown champion, Samad Razavi.

OFC Pineapple Shootout Champion, Mika Hallstrom

The day also saw the seventh side event take place, the Open Face Chinese Pineapple Shootout event. There were 18 players who participated with three players seeing the money. At three-handed, it was Korea’s Seung Soo Jeon, UK’s Razavi, and Finland’s Mika Hallstrom. Well past the midnight hour, it was Hallstrom who reigned victorious and claimed the event trophy plus the first place cash prize of P131,000.

The Last Chance Main Event saw 58 players battle for a discounted seat to the Main Event. Five players were awarded seats bringing the total number of satellite winner to twenty. Congratulations to all the winners!

Today will see two side events running alongside the Main Event. At 3pm, the No Limit Hold ‘em event with a P16,500 entry fee. A few hours later, at 6pm, the Ante Up Turbo is on deck with a P5,500 buy-in fee. For all the details of today’s activities, head to the APT Finale schedule.
