The Asian Poker Tour has had many firsts this year starting with the opening of its very own poker room, the APT Poker Room Manila, followed by the first-ever APT Vietnam, and now the APT Poker Weekend Series Manila which kicks off today, Friday, June 5, 2015 and runs until Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Casino Filipino – Manila Pavilion Hotel in Ermita, Manila, Philippines.
The APT Poker Weekend Series Manila will certainly be another exciting addition to the APT yearly roster. By curtailing the series a bit, the poker festival expands its reach to more players, running for five days instead of the usual eight or nine days. With APT continuously dedicated towards the growth of poker, APT CEO Jeff Mann shared,
“As always, we responded to the requests of players, both local and international, to create a shorter event where they can get their APT poker fix over a weekend.”
So what’s in store for the next five days? The APT Poker Weekend Series Manila offers nine side events with buy-ins ranging from PHP5,500-55,000, plus the Main Event with a buy-in of PHP27,500. Another important treat for players to be extra excited about is that all events (satellites not included) award points towards the APT Player of the Year 2015 race. According to APT Tournament Director Lloyd Fontillas,
“We are offering a Main Event with a lower buy-in in order to give a chance to more players looking to experience an APT Main Event structure.”
Kicking off the festivities is the No Limit Hold ‘em Re-buys and Add-on Event at 1pm with a buy-in of PHP 5,500. Then at 3pm, the two-day High Roller Event with a buy-in of PHP 55,000. There will also be the first of two Main Event Main Event Mega Satellites at 6pm with a buy-in of PHP 2,750. For more information, check out the APT Poker Weekend Series Manila 2015 Event Details.
For players who have not yet made their way to the Philippines, the APT Poker Weekend Series Manila will be held at the heart of Metro Manila, a bustling city with lots of history and heritage. Players can catch gorgeous sunsets by the Manila Bay. Restaurants and bars are also a stone’s throw away. So for those looking to stay at the Waterfront Manila Pavilion Hotel, they can avail of the special APT rates (exclusively for players attending the APT Poker Weekend Series Manila) starting at PHP3,500 nett.
