236 runners for Day 1C ends with Mei San Ang leading the 105 survivors

What a day at the MAIN EVENT races!

A total of 236 runners – 169 players and 67 re-entries – were in action at Day 1C of the APT Vietnam 2018 MAIN EVENT here at Pro Poker Club. The room was filled to capacity with players rubbing elbows all throughout the day. At the end of the scheduled nine rounds, 105 bagged up. Our chip leader was a new face at the APT tables, Mei San Ang with 292,200 in chips.

Sitting at the same table as the leader was Nick Gorman. He racked up a fine stack as well amassing the second largest of 279,000.

And to round out the top three of the day was Pham Van Thang with 273,600.

There were many notable players also surviving the day’s challenges. Five decorated APT Main Event champions were part of that list: Sam Razavi, Iori Yogo, Linh Tran, Feng Zhao, and defending champion, Dang Xuan Canh.

Recent winners, CoinPoker Super High Rollers champion Victor Chong and Monster Stack winner Duong Vi Khoa also made it through. Chong built up the fifth largest of the day of 237,700 and Vi Khoa a healthy 183,000. 

Among the Indian contingent scattered around the room, Nishant Sharma ended the day with the heftiest stack of 213,200.

Day 1C had the biggest turnout of the three starting days. As it stands, the entry days have a combined total of 471 entries with 195 players advancing to Day 2 on Tuesday, October 9, 2018. The prize pool is currently in the ballpark of VND 9 Billion. We will have the official numbers for you at the close of registration tomorrow at 1pm.
