Soichiro Kojiya and Toshimasa Sakato share Main Event Day 1A lead; Aleksei Sei wins the PLO Hi 1

The APT Korea Championships 2018 ran another set of games at Paradise City Casino in Incheon and first up was the Main Event. A big contingent of Japanese players quickly heated up the floor that it was no surprise to see several of them up in the rankings. By the end of the scheduled eight rounds, two players bagged up the largest stacks, separated by just one 100 denomination chip.

In addition to the leaders, notable player Tetsuya Tsuchikawa was also in the field. He enjoyed a late game rush, winning three consecutive pots – two of which were double ups – to bring his stack back in fighting form at bagging. His first double up was with 6 4 two pair over 8 8 on a board of 6 A 4 K 3 with the shoves seen at the flop.

Aleksei Sei wins the Pot Limit Omaha Hi 1

Running alongside Main Event Day 1A was the Pot Limit Omaha Hi 1 event. This brought in a small field of 14 players each one funding the pot ₩330,000 for a prize pool of ₩4,074,000.

Aleksei Sei, PLO Hi 1 winner

Awarded the victory was Russia’s Aleksei Sei. After Sei eliminated Kyungmin Lee in 3rd place, he quickly opted to split the first and second place cash down the middle with Jae Hoon Lee. Since Sei had the most chips, he automatically claimed the title and the event trophy.
