Simba Leads Main Event Day 1A Pack

Main Event Day 1A of the Asian Poker Tour’s inaugural event in South Korea held at the Royal Palace Casino, in partnership with the Jeju Oriental Hotel has ended with 29 players left in the field. Seventy-nine players started the day and it would be Jae Kyung Sim aka Simba who emerged as the chip leader after eleven levels of play. The Korean-born poker player has 140,000 in chips to lead the pack of 29 players advancing to Day 2 on Monday, March 4th. China’s Liao Xiaoyong (95,000) and Yoichi Fujiya from Japan (83,200) come in second and third respectively.

Simba roars to the lead of the APT Asian Series Jeju 2013 Main Event Day 1A

2012 APT Player of the Year Samad Razavi busted out of the tournament while Tetsuya Tsuchikawa (63,800) and Kristian Faering (65,700) will still see action on Day 2.

Meanwhile, Japan’s Ryoichi Saito bagged the trophy for the Freezeout 2 event outlasting 28 other players. For his efforts, Saito earned US$ 3,690 leading over his fellow Japanese Tetsuya Noguchi who had to settle for second and China’s Hsiao Wei Kuo at 3rd place.
