Macaron Tan rails Josh McCully

Level: 13 Blinds: 1500-3000 Ante: 500

On a flop 7 2 6, Macaron Tan was all in with 9 8 and Josh McCully risked his tournament life calling with 7 Q. The turn K changed nothing but with the river 5, Macaron’s gamble paid off as he landed the straight to knock out McCully. 


Short stacks make or break

We’ve got short stacks shoving all around the room that it makes you wonder if we’ve crossed into the money round. Taking a look at the screens, nope we haven’t with 65 players still remaining and the money at 36 spots. Here are some of those shoves:

Hien Ngo

Short stacked Hien Ngo was all in as the runt with A 8 and was up against A K and J J. The board ran 8 5 Q 8 2 for trips. 

Devesh Thapar raised to 7500, Takao Shimizu shoved his remaining 69.5k, Thapar folded while showing A-Q.  

Yanda Thyronne Soh

Yanda Thyronne Soh was all in with A 2 and was up against Vu Manh Phong with Q Q. The board came J 9 4 10 A for a higher pair spiked on the river to avoid the rail. 

Linh Tran opened for 7500, short stacked Trung Hien Nguyen moved all in, Tran snap-called. Tran A K, Nguyen K 10, the board ran 4 J 5 10 4 for a double to around 100k. 

 


ATM machine Han Tae Hoon way down

Level: 12 Blinds: 1200-2400 Ante: 400

Han Tae Hoon has been the ATM machine at his table. We caught him doubling up two players in separate occasions. The first player was Louis Nguyen whose 8-8 survived Han’s A-K. The next player was Nguyen Dun Giao Linh just before the first break of the day. Han is way down to 28k from his opening day’s stack of 133K.


A loaded Table 8; Choong Kian Weng vs Vanness Kim

Level: 12 Blinds: 1200-2400 Ante: 400

To give you an idea of the caliber out in the field, at Table 8 are power players all bunched together. Tran Duc Phuong (unseen-Main Event finalist), Tan Wah Meng (Head Hunter champion), Choong Kian Weng (2014 Main Event winner), Vanness Kim (entering 2nd chip leader), Huy Pham (2104 Main Event winner, and Son Putin (Main Event 17th place).

Vanness Kim

We caught a big pot being shipped to Vanness with Choong taking the hit. The board showed 5 6 2 K 2. Vanness had 5 5 full house and Choong with A 7 nut flush.


Huynh Tan Dung stays in the game

Level: 12 Blinds: 1200-2400 Ante: 400

Huynh Tan Dung aka Pegasus, the CoinPoker High Rollers 1 champion is back at it attempting to secure another title. He will have his work cut out though having entered with a short stack. He did manage to double up but is still way behind. He was all in with 8-8 and it held against A-7.


Charly Mouline gets Anthony Abram to fold trips

Level: 12 Blinds: 1200-2400 Ante: 400

Charly Mouline

With action folding all the way to button player Charly Mouline, he raised to 5k. The blinds called, Ouana Phung and Anthony Abram. At the flop 3 3 2, blinds checked to the aggressor Mouline who c-bet 8k. Phung folded but Abram raised to 16k. Mouline quickly called and the turn Q landed. Abram checked, Mouline bet 15k, and Abram called. On the J river, Abram checked once more, Mouline fired out 50k, and that ended the hand with Abram folding while showing his 3 trips.


Iori Yogo out

Level: 12 Blinds: 1200-2400 Ante: 400

Iori Yogo is a decorated Championships Event winner with a title earned in the Philippines earlier this year. The hunt for his second though ended very far from the goal as he was eliminated by Hoe Guofeng.

Yogo shoved with K Q, Guofeng called with A K, the board ran 10 9 A 6 4.


Vanness Kim pays Phuong’s aces

Level: 12 Blinds: 1200-2400 Ante: 400

Second chip leader at the start of Day 2, Vanness Kim, went head-to-head against Main Event finalist Tran Duc Phuong that ended with him paying a double up. The hand began with a raise by Phuong from the utg seat and Kim called down the orbit. At the flop 3 4 2, Phuong led for 10k and Kim called. On the 2 turn action was the same with a 20k bet called by Kim. Then on the river 7, Phuong was instantly all in and Kim stuck with him.

Kim drops to around 266k and Phuong at 186k.

Catching the action on a turn board 10 6 6 8, cards were opened, Xiaoyin He 10 10 full house and Josh McCully A K draw. Realizing he was drawing dead, McCully started counting out chips to pay the double up. Xiaoyin up to 260K.
