APT Vietnam Ho Chi Minh 2019 Championships Event

Day 3 begins!

Here we go! Another elimination round to bring us closer to the money and the crown. Today will see the remaining 24 players hunt down a piece of the VND 6,518,400,000 prize pool. Only 20 are guaranteed to profit. The eventual winner will receive VND 1,655,320,000 but that has yet to come tomorrow.

For now, the plan is to play down to the Final 8 players. Only one player in the lineup is decorated with an APT Championships Event title, that’s our second chip leader, Vietnamese pro Cao Ngoc Anh.  Another local pro, Nang Quang Nguyen is also on the felt. Quang finished 2nd at last year’s APT Vietnam Main Event and 5th at this series Main Event. While the host country has the numbers with 9 players here today, the Philippines has 4 players fielded with two of  the in the upper rung of the count, chip leader Vamerdino Magsakay and Joseph Talamayan.

We also have three players from India: Ashish Munot, Sumit Sapra, and Lakshpal Singh. Three also from Korea: Yonghyun Yoo, Je Hun Hong, and Kim Hak Do. Returning from a 3rd place finish at the series Main Event is New Zealand’s Oliver Helm.

Several more complete the roster. Good luck to all!

Total chips in play: 9,524,700
