After a preflop raise war, Hoang Anh Tuan was all in with Q♠ Q♥ and faced big stacked Nguyen Quang Huy’s A♥ K♠. The window card quickly dropped an ace and held for a higher pair to Nguyen and the rail for Hoang. Nguyen climbed to 370k.
Terry Nguyen is no stranger to being short. At Day 2 he was down to just 6 BB and clawed back to advance to today’s race. With 17 BB in his arsenal, he three-bet shoved holding A♦ Q♠ and initial raiser Huynh Ngoc Cuong gave him a sweat with A♠ J♠. The board was good to Nguyen as it ran low for a double up to over 180K. As for Cuong, his stack was barely dented with 420k.
DC Nguyen was next to fall with K♥ Q♥ outdrawn by Yin Mingbao’s J♦ 4♦ turned trips on the river K♦ A♠ J♠ 5♥ J♣. Yin climbed from starting the day at 260k to now at 410k.
All in with short stacked Vu Duc Trung ahead A♣ Q♥ against challenger Thomas Ward with A♠ J♠, but when the board ran out 8♥ 6♠ 7♠ 10♠ 9♣, War improved to a crushing flush to ship it. Ward up to 280K.
The field is down to 54 players across six tables. Time banks now in play with each player given 5 chips worth 60 minutes each.
With over 200K in the pot and a board of 3♣ 10♣ 7♦ 5♥ K♠, Yuthana Boonorm had 45k out front that sent Nguyen Van Trung tanking. Nguyen eventually called and it was a good decision. Boonorm had A♦ K♣ top pair that was behind his A♠ A♣ overpair. Nguyen chipped up to 456k, Boonorm dropped to 125k.
Vu Minh Hai became the day’s first casualty, risking his short stack with Q♣ J♠ but ran smack into Khoi Nguyen’s A♣ A♥. Nguyen climbed to 150k.
We are down to 55 players. One bust needed for a table break.
