On a board 7♠ 9♦ 8♣ 7♦, Norbert Koh was all in with J♦ J♠ and was drawing dead to Tian Ha Hung’s 7♣ 7♥ quads. Shortly after, Koh was in a three-way showdown and scooped it wit A-K dominating A-6 and A-7. He zoomed from 60K to nearly 200K.

Five more players go bust, each one earning VN₫ 46,740,000 (~US$ 2,016). Among the hands we caught was Nguyen Van Chien all in with A♥ 8♥ that missed against chip leader Ngoc Anh Cao’s A♠ J♣. Same fate for Ankit Jajodia who shoved with A♠ Q♦ that fell to Cao’s A♦ K♣. Shortly after, Mr Ngo went all in holding 6♦ 6♥, was called by Nguyen Van Trung A♦ 8♦, the board was 8♣ A♣ 5♥ Q♠ 10♥. 

Tharit Nanthana shoved with a premium hand of A♣ K♦ and was looked up by Teddy Pham with A♦ 10♦. The board favored Pham running 9♥ 7♣ 8♠ 6♣ 2♦ for a straight. Nanthana departed 45th for VN₫ 46,740,000 (~US$ 2,016).

First player to the money was Ito Akira in 48th place and was followed by NguyenVan Kien aka Keni with Giao Linh sending him packing. Keni pushed with J♥ 10♠ that was dominated throughout by Linh’s J♣ Q♥.

Next to the money was Thomas Ward in 46th place. It happened in back to back losses. The first hand his A♠ K♠ ran into Nguyen Hai Manh’s A♣ A♥. This sent his stack down to 45k which he pushed on the next hand with Q♦ J♦ that busted to Tran Huy Hoang’s A♦ 10♣ on a board K♥ A♥ 5♦ 6♠ Q♣.

All three players earned VN₫ 38,950,000 (~US$ 1,680)

During the bubble round Tharit Nanthana was all in with A♣ 5♣ and survived the call by Nam Phong Q♠ 3♣ on a board 2♣ 9♣ 5♥ 6♣ 4♥ for flush over straight. After the bubble burst, Nanthana doubled up again, this time through Nguyen Van Trung with pocket Kings over pocket Eights. Nanthana is still short with 135k.

After getting chunked down to 10 BB against Pham Tien Dung, Vaibhav Sharma survived several hands then pushed it with A♥ A♠. He faced Pham again who had A♦ Q♠. When the flop ran a dramatic J♦ 6♠ K♠, Sharma did not want to see a ten on the turn but that’s exactly what turned up 10♣ for a straight to Pham. The river 5♦ sealed the win and the bust. With no bubble protection, Sharma walked away with no pay. Pham goes over 600K.

Day’s entering chip leader Ngoc Anh Cao raised from cutoff and big blind Phan Trong Linh defended. At the flop 10♣ 10♠ 8♥, Phan checked, Cao c-bet 39k, Phan answered with a raise to 96k, Cao smooth-called. On the turn 7♠, check again by Phan, all in by Cao, quick fold by Phan who showed A♠ 3♠ nut flush draw. Cao returned the gesture showing Q♠ 5♠ flush draw as well. Cao beefed up to 1.16M and is the overwhelming chip leader. Phan dropped to 200k.

With the elimination of Khoi Nguyen, the field is down to 49 players which is bubble time. Tables are now going hand for hand. Several players are also insured with bubble protection.

Down below 6 BB, Khoi Khoi Nguyen shoved with A♥ 9♠ that failed to improve against Thomas Ward’s 10♣ 10♠. Ward chipped up to 235k.
