After doubling up Jaesh Balachandran, James Chavanarojrit waited for hand he could push. It came from utg with 8 8 however big blind Nguyen Duc Bien woke up with A J and called. When the board ran A Q 10 A 9, it was the end for Chavanarojrit missing the final table by one spot. He earned VND 189,430,000 (~USD 8,100) for his deep run.


Jaesh Balachandran avoids the rail

From utg, Jaesh Balachandran shoved (175k), down the round James Chavanarojrit did the same with 420k behind. No other callers.

Ankit Wadhawan vs Vincent Chauve

Button Ankit Wadhawan raised to 55k, bb Vincent Chauve defended. At the flop A J 8, Wadhawan c-bet 31k, Chauve check-called. On the turn Q, no bets landed, and the river came K. Chauve led for 100k, Wadhawan called. Chauve 8 6 pair, Wadhawan won it with J J set.

KMGM’s last hope was Kim Kyung Hun however his short stack struggle kept him at a push or fold with big stacks all around him. He finally got it all in with Q Q only to run into Akshay Nasa’s A A. The board ran empty and he fell in 10th place. He earned VND 131,550,000 (~USD 5,600).

Hard fall for big stacked Madhav Gupta who exited in 11th place. The hand that did it began with utg+1 Vincent Chauve raising to 45k, beside him Gupta three-bet to 115k, Chauve called. When the flop landed 10 2 8, Chauve check-raised a 90k bet to make it 210k. Gupta called. On the turn 3, Chauve led for 310k, Gupta jammed, snap-called by Chauve.

Gupta was drawing dead. The river was 7. Gupta earned VND 131,550,000 (~USD 5,600) for his finish. Chauve increased to 3.1M.


Cao Tung Lam falls on a failed bluff – 12th place – VND 131,550,000 (~USD 5,600)

It took some time before the next player bumped the rail and the casualty was Cao Tung Lam who attempted a bluff that failed. Hot running Choi Eng Loong opened to 50k from hijack, cutoff Lam and bb Sofia Lovgren called.

On the flop 4 J K, Choi c-bet 67k, Lam called, Lovgren check-folded. On the turn 6, again a bet by Choi of 115k, smooth-called by Lam. The river 2, Choi opted to check, Lam went all in for 147k, Choi tank-called. It was a good call with Lam turning over a bluff A 10. Choi shipped it with A J pair. Lam pocketed VND 131,550,000 (~USD 5,600). Choi up to 1.5m.


Choi Eng Loong wins three in a row; rises to 1.13M

Choi Eng Loong took command of the table in three consecutive hands to increase to 1.13m. The first hand saw a full board 5 A 9 9 Q, a player bet 40k, Loong raised to 180k, got the call. Loong showed A A and his opponent mucked.

Next hand hijack James Chavanarojrit raised to 40k, cutoff Loong three-bet to 120k, Chavanarojrit folded. Following that hand, he won a pot against Sofia Lovgren who called his river bet. He showed two pair with A 2 and Lovgren mucked.
