Still working around the starting stack, Jan-Eric Schwippert fired a value bet of 2,000 on the river of the board of 2♣ 9♥ 9♣ 7♥ 4♠ against Victor Chong, who spent some time in the tank before making a decision.
Chong finally threw away his hand to give Schwippert the nice pot.
Luke Pangan pumped up a 300 raise by a mid position player to make it 600 to tango and was quietly called. At the flop of 3♣ A♥ 4♥, the mp player checked to Pangan who wasted no time rolling a 1K bet in front of him. His opponent folded and Pangan kindly showed his A♦ K♥.
Getting a feel of the players at their designated table, three players called a 150 raise preflop to see a board land 10♦ 9♣ 5♥. Acting first, the bb player checked to SJ Kim on mid position who bet out 350. Action was not awarded as everyone folded to Kim’s bet.
We didn’t see the entire action but we did see Sam Razavi scoop up a nice pot early holding pocket sixes on a board of 2♣ 2♦ 6♣ 3♦ 2♣ busting out one player in the process.
Full-house for the two-time APT POY who’s also aiming for a third consecutive year-end crown and he’s easily one of the chip leaders early in Day 1B.
With blinds at their lowest, four players called a 150 preflop raise and saw a flop of 9♦ 5♥ 10♦ grace the felt. Sb player checked his option to the initial raiser who slid out 350 followed by a raise to 1050 by Azusa Maeda on the hijack position which found only one customer in the initial raiser. At the turn of 5♦, action was checked to Maeda who slid out 1400 and was check-called. Then on the river of 7♣, action was checked to Maeda again and he laid out a 3600 bet which was good enough to take down the pot without a fight.
Looking at Jan-Eric Schwippert’s stack it appears he’s been involved early in some hands in the opening level.
He got a few back in a recent hand after a post-flop Q♥ J♣ 3♥ raising war with one opponent. He’s back to around the starting stack of 20,000.
Schwippert really wants to bounce back in Day 1B after a frustrating Day 1A yesterday when he had one of the bigger stacks in the latter part of the day but lost most of it to eventual chip leader Sam Nee and was busted out.
