Evan Yanoshik saw his last hand of the Main Event when he tangled in a pot against Martin Corpuz. During the hand, Corpuz raised to 2800 preflop and Yanoshik from the bb seat called. At the flop of 7♦ Q♦ 8♥, Yanoshik checked to Corpuz who laid out a continuation bet of 3000. Yanoshik called. At the turn of K♥, things got aggressive with Yanoshik betting 6000, raised by Corpuz to 25000, and Yanoshik replied with an all in which Corpuz snap-called.
Yanoshik: J♦ 10♣
Corpuz: A♦ K♣
With the river of 10♠ completing the board, Yanoshik failed to improve and was sent to the rail. Corpuz now has 82K chips.
36 players are paid in this main event and we’re playing down to that number before Day 2 ends. We currently have 86 players in the running.
Sam Nee (Malaysia) was in a pre-flop raising war against Bae Sung Sik (Korea) with the last raise from the Malaysian, who put in roughly 50,000.
Sik, who entered Day 2 with over 100,000 didn’t want to indulge the chip leader further.
Marc Rivera got into a pot against SJ Kim which we only caught at the river betting.
Pot: around 12K
Board: 5♥ 6♠ 9♥ 4♠ 3♠
Kim bet 3600 from the bb seat and Rivera raised it to 8600. Kim took a minute to assess his next move and opted to fold. Rivera now sits with around 46K chips.

Jose Drilon from the Philippines kicked off the action at his table by raising to 2800 from mid position. Zhong Quan Biem on the hijack seat quietly responded with an all in move for all of Drilon’s chips. Drilon decided to take him on and was glad to see his J♠ J♥ was ahead of Biem’s 10♠ 10♦. With the board running Q♦ A♠ 9♥ 4♥ 9♣, Drilon bagged a sweet early double up to around 65K chips.
Short stack battle at table 13 saw Paul Cohan from England raise to 2700 and was challenged by the all in shove of Daniel Chin from Malaysia who sat directly to his left. Cohan tanked for a bit but then relinquished his hand shortly after.
Another battle was on table 10 with Evan Yanoshik from the USA raising to 3000, got three-bet by Daniel Blair from the UK to 6600 which ended quickly when Yanoshik replied back with a push all in.
Utg player Eric Sia was also in a similar predicament when he raised it up to 2200 preflop only to get shoved all in for another 23500 by Jessie Supnet on the small blind. Sia opted to fold.
Jerwin Pasco (Philippines) re-raised a pre-flop raise of compatriot Martin Gonzales to 6,200. The player beside him called and Gonzales got out of the way to bring the flop 10♥ 7♦ 6♥.
Pasco fired another 7,500 and was again called rather quickly to bring the turn J♠. The Filipino wanted more, added 9,000 to the middle and again got the call to bring the river 9♥.
Both checked and Pasco shows his A♣ 10♦ beating the opponent, who mucked his hand. Pasco climbs to over 75,000 after this hand.
