Malaysian Ngeow Chung Fai bet 10,000 on a flop of 2♣ 3♥ 7♣ and Michael Mariakis called. On the turn 4♥ Fai added 23,000 more and this time Mariakis folded his hand saying he won’t go with ten-deuce.
Good idea says Fai, who showed pocket sevens.
Huy Pham delivered a double blow just after the table redraw. During the hand Pham raised 20K and both Lourdes Fernandez and Daniel Chin shoved their chips. Having them both covered, Pham snap-called and it was a three-way extravaganza.
Pham: A♦ Q♦
Chin: 5♠ 5♣
Fernandez: A♥ J♥
With the board of 4♣ K♦ Q♠ J♣ K♣, Pham swept and booted both Fernandez and Chin from the Main Event. With less chips, Fernandez is out in 27th and collects PhP116,000 and Chin out in 26th, he also collects PhP116,000. Pham is now up to 385K chips.
On a board of 3♣ K♥ 7♥ 8♠ 2♦, we saw Huy Pham fire 33,000 and was easily called by Eric Sia.
Pham shows pocket sixes but Sia had the pocket queens. Sia climbs to roughly 600,000 after the hand.
Singaporean Chris Chong is eliminated from the main event. We’re down to 27 players– time for a re-draw. Pay jumps as well with the next nine busts out getting PHP 116,000 each.
Tetsuya Tsuchikawa and Chris Chong did the preflop rraise war dance and with about the same amount of chips, they both got them in the middle. At the showdown,
Tsuchikawa: Q♦ Q♣
Chong: 10♥ 9♥
With the flop landing 5♥ 3♥ 6♠, Chong was still behind but had a flush draw, but with the turn of 6♠ and river of J♣, Chong lost the hand and doubled up Tsuchikawa.
Tsuchikawa climbs to 365K while Chong fell to 38K.
Michele Ferrari’s main event run is over.
Holding pocket nines, Ferrari ran into Eric Sia’s bullets and found no help on the board. Ferrari settles for PHP 90,000 and we’re down to 28 players.
Sia climbed to over half a million in chips after this win.
Lim Choon Kwang keep stealing ’em pots preflop.
With just under 50,000 he shoved again forcing Euryd Rivera to the tank. The Filipino folded and Kwang adds a little more to his dwindling stack.
Two players were all-in with Azusa Maeda trying to survive against Mike Takayama.
Maeda: K♠ K♣
Takayama: 3♦ 3♣
Flop 10♦ 8♥ A♥ turn 2♠ and river 4♠ and the Japanese survives. Maeda climbs back to around 140,000 while Takayama drops to around 420,000.
Keith Seah landed a big double up in a hand against Azusa Maeda. Seah had all his chip in the middle preflop…
Seah: A♣ K♠
Maeda: J♣ J♠
The board ran A♠ 5♥ 9♥ 5♠ 3♥, and just like that, Seah took the lead and was awarded a double up to just over 400K.
